On the dance, he would have told his children about the need of putting a place of rightful inheritance. He would also told about simply giving dragons to another family is a recipe for disaster, hence laws. They know that there is conflict about to go down in Westeros.

The difference between them is jarring. I understand Rhaenyra and her frustrations but at the same time she could have made some efforts with the Green side (I mean they are also Targs). Viserys the Idiot should be his title in future history books. Will the Industrial Revolution start when Aegon is alive or later generations? Will there be a fusion of magic and technology similar to Hextech from Arcane animated series? Did he (MC) tell his kids about how the dance is gonna go?

2025-01-15 21:59:56 +0000 UTCI loved the part where Viserys had to almost outright disown Aegon and Elamaerys Targaryens just to avoid an issue with the faith. I hope future Elamaerys use this to keep Westeros Targaryens at a distance. Not to mention the fantastic idea of making kinslaying punishable by death in Elamaerys. When Rhaenyra mentioned leveraging her Arryn background, it made me wonder why Baelor the blessed didn't do this to enhance his holiness and piety? Enjoyed the long chapter and especially the historical Elamaeri historical texts which a fantastic way to do show-and-tell action from a different angle. The point of view of the academy soldiers is great writing and told the story of the campaign from the viewpoint of a soldier on the ground with fantastic suspense. I feel sorry for Rhaenyra, she is definitely trying harder than she did in cannon and is still hampered by the Useless Viserys.

I assume they would have more high renaissance or more baroque fashion style by 10-15 years from now. Would smaller septs and chapels structures buildings be built on districts, villages, towns and cities over the course of times? Lastly, I wonder if you could write a nation/societal overview on Elamaerys towards the end? Especially their culture and their economics. Do they have improved systems of textiles, clothing manufacturing, and tailoring? What would be the minimum age of marriage? 16 or 18?

Teenagers can be annoying (as expected) and in the KL arc she was annoying - hence the dislike atm (Not hate lol). As I said before, she’s grown up a lot and Boom has shown that through her POV. No one hates her just her situation…which is why I want Aegon to give Viserys a proverbial punch in the face *fingers crossed*

The authors said perfectly, although he stood by her claim, he’s doing nothing to protect it. Viserys is literally throwing her to the wolves. He gives her no power, no ability to improve. She’s lucky she’s got some help in this fic, Royce’s and an actual husband this time in comparison with what she actually had in canon. The greens? Kinslayers, cowards, sneaky asf characters have all the support they need. They get told high and low how their the ones that should rule whilst rhaeynera literally as to fight for something that her father the king is literally proclaiming that it is hers alone. Plus did we all somehow forget her dad literally killed his her mother and married her best friend that flipped on her? I swear I think people lack empathy, cause I’m willing to put all the money I have down if u were her you’ll think diff

2025-01-15 03:53:27 +0000 UTCI agree with you about Viserys what I am surprised with is how Rhea hasn’t grabbed Rhaenyra by the ear and told her not to make an enemy out of Aegon or to reach out to him. Visery likes to stay in his bubble but the moment someone tells him the truth that shakes his comfort spot in his bubble he gets mad and says I’m king or makes everyone shut up about it. Such a shame I can’t even imagine Jaehaerys seeing how much of a failure Viserys is.

Rhaeynra (in the previous chapters) read as a typical teen of the era, so while I didn’t like her it was understandable lol This chapter definitely shows that she’s grown and is fully aware of her position. It pains me as well, because all these problems stem from Viserys. He made his daughter heir and doesn’t defend her position, in fact it seems that he does everything he can to weaken it. He neglects his other children and does nothing about the tension that has been there since the beginning. He doesn’t keep his wife’s family and their ambitions in check. He’s literally weak sauce 😩 And I know it’s useless but can our Aegon give him the bold face truth? I mean, really just shove his failures in his face and leave him with this deep foreboding feeling, but know it’s too late to fix any of it. I feel like everyone knows he’s not going to listen and when he throws the slightest tantrum (like so) they give up. Aegon needs to punch him in the face … with truth.

The fact the greens have so heavily entrenched themselves in the capital is a dire omen for the blacks. Based on what was said in previous chapters and what is hinted at here, I suspect many a velaryon is about to die in the upcoming struggle for the step stones and Tyrosh. With so many cousins and nephews being deployed to protect their families interests it seems inevitable that a bit of pruning will happen. Also based on the vision Vaegon had a few chapters ago makes me think that one way or another, neither the Hightower nor the starry sept will get out of the conflict unscathed. Be real interesting to see how it all shakes out. The fact that Joanna is being petty about giving Aegon even seemingly redundant information is both funny and exasperating. He obviously has other sources he can use to get the information so it’s purely out of spite on Johanna’s part. Why she’s doing it is obvious to us the reader but really all she’s doing is weakening herself more than anyone else. Shame she can’t let old slights go, she and aegon are similar in that way. It will be interesting to see how the politics of Essos change following the dance, many opportunities for the players to improve their hand with Westeros distracted. The POV of the soldier was nice as it showed the foundations of what will no doubt become a a formidable army. Such an army will be needed by elamaerys in the decades to come. Solonys’s thoughts about the feeling of fighting is fascinating as well as concerning if not handled correctly. Fortunately he seems to have a good grasp of the pitfalls of such thinking and shouldn’t do anything stupid in the future. An excellent chapter as always. Can’t wait for the next one and hope you have a great day!

I always love the POVs of Elamaeri citizens and the clear national spirit that they've built. It's honestly infuriating how arrogant the Westerosi Targs and lords are about their abilities to humble Aegon. They just don't want to understand anything. Will there be another time skip soon? Patiently awaiting the next one.
