I would THINK the thing Aegon sensed was the "SHE" that was mentioned in the "time travel" chapter. "She" (I doubt its human at least fully) is probably in some sort of stasis and perhaps even has influenced Aegon somehow to find her. Either while being in the "stasis" if that is a thing or from the future? Or Aegon could be right and its the "hearth of the world". Either can't be sure until we get more content but its fun to theorize I guess.

2024-12-16 15:51:45 +0000 UTCGreat chapter as always, loved the positive development regarding Aegons relationship with Solonys. Anyway, for the westerosi POV, I'm really hoping for a scene with a floundering, flabbergasted, green faced jealous, small council, when news of Elamaerys reaches them :) Merry Christmas

2024-12-16 13:57:26 +0000 UTCSorta yes? I… I don’t think anyone said otherwise? Uh… where did you hear that it would be taught outside the family, obviously it will be spread in the future but that is nothing to do with current mc. I don’t think they stated that in their comment. Idk tho ( always make sure to end with idk tho, so that you are not liable)

2024-12-14 04:01:50 +0000 UTCShould’nt magic also be similar to dragons though? With similar rules pertaining to only Targ family having access to the knowledge. Making it a family magic secret. Imagine teaching magic and having the knowledge leaked to outsiders? I am not trying to discriminate but won’t that cause similar problems to what giving access to dragons would have in the long run?

2024-12-13 15:46:30 +0000 UTCThe daughters are taught magic too. They all are, including Gael though she's not interested for the most part. Eventually, he'll also open their third eye. He wouldn't exclude them in something they have equal rights to...and something they could also use to protect their family from threats.

2024-12-13 08:49:19 +0000 UTCQuick question mate, Singh asked most of the questions I have, but I have just a small one of my own. I know it has been stated Aegons sons know magic, and maybe I just skipped over it, but would this be the same for the daughters? Or have they been excluded like Gael was?

2024-12-12 16:02:53 +0000 UTCThe nations in Planetos is like a playground Elmaerys, The Summer Isles, The Nations in West and East Essos trading with each other and progressing the technology of mankind trying to be friends while Westeros is that weird kid who hides behind a rock.

2024-12-11 22:19:15 +0000 UTCI wonder if we’ll see instances of Elamaerys hosting dignitaries from places like Yi-Ti and Leng or other more eastern civilizations. Would be interesting to see their perspectives on what Aegon has done/ is creating. Especially with how they are no doubt impacting the textile market. Also it was interesting seeing how Vaegon, a person of almost pure logic, reacts to the asoiaf equivalent of the WARP. Not surprising he almost immediately came to the realization that such a place needed to be as far from humans as possible. Will we see more instances of people using/studying magic other than just the targ family? I remember in the ghostly pov we saw someone who could be of naathi origin using wind magic, is it possible for those of Valyrian descent to use magic to or just the royal family? In regards to the people at the wedding will we get scenes of Johanna interacting with aegon? Or perhaps someone from Braavos? Hope you don’t mind the questions, just can’t help myself from thinking of all the possibilities of unique character interactions/situations.
Hello
2024-12-11 22:01:06 +0000 UTCThere are eggs that had been laid, and also Maegelle most likely would get a dragon once she’s at age of maturity and married or engaged to Solonys.

2024-12-11 01:54:13 +0000 UTCHow will Maegelle get a dragon if there are no wild dragons there?

2024-12-11 00:29:08 +0000 UTCIt will depend on the robustness and strong cultural influences Aegon instils in Elamaerys. If he is successful, he will be able to pass on a legacy of innovation. If he is successful. Also, he can't rely always on the influence of the Dragonlords to intercede. They might not even want to if enough generations pass. After all, it is difficult to maintain an agenda one generation on, let alone two or five.

2024-12-09 22:18:41 +0000 UTCAlways a delight to see your comment! If only more would give such a lengthy review (good or bad - hint hint), I'd be happier haha. Vaegon's thoughts about progress halting is a very valid one but also a very skeptical one. Human nature, or rather selfishness, can be hard to overcome especially if one is threatened by something. Aegon will have to make sure that his Elamaerys' push for progress perseveres. Vaegon is definitely difficult but as you say, he does care. He's just...had he lived with siblings - and parents - who perhaps cared a little more about his happiness, he might have turned out a little bit more friendly. In any case, Aegon understands him - so do Gael and Polaerys, and to a lesser extent the others. It helps that they do not try to push ideas on him on how to be as well. The kids take Aegon's lead on that given they'd observed his interactions with the man. Vaegon will be important in the coming years to help Aegon refine his thinking. Bear in mind that the volcano is pretty much extinct, even if he melted a small area (although it was quite deep tbf) but yes, his abilities have grown but most of it is still just an expansion of what he was able to do years ago. He has stagnated, as Vaegon eluded to slightly. Though the visions through fires is an exception. That he did manage to add to his belt. It helped that he had experiences of how prophetic fires felt though. Although it feels wrong to say prophetic fires... Aegon likely will not be able to recreate Valyrian Steel. That much I can already hint at. It's a step too far. Even fused stone is not exactly the same but mostly the way forward to Valyrian fused stone. There'll be something about Westeros in the next chap. The chap after will have Westeros POVs in depth. Including about the use of magic. Breannei's insecurities were definitely alleviated by Aegon's attentiveness to her as an equal in that household. Despite his manipulations to slowly shift away the idea of her being sibling-sibling to Aegon's kids, he didn't shy away his care and love from her. Maegelle as well. Plus it helped he gave her - and Rhaena - the freedoms they needed to grow as Dragonlords, even if they are women in a medieval society. The luxury of being dragonriders helps in that regard too. Maegelle does, or will understand. Aegon is too good of a talker to be able to get his views across and why he's done what he's done. It also helps that Maegelle definitely feels that Aegon does love her, which he does. Beyond simply being the father she hasn't had, the girl had helped him tremendously during their time in Velos. Seriously, she was his rock that helped him find a bit of light in an otherwise dark period.

2024-12-09 22:05:32 +0000 UTCGood chapter as always. Its nice to see that Elamaerys is developing nicely and will continue to develop is Aegon and his family have anything to say about it. Its also good to see that Vaemond has concerns regarding whether or not Elamaerys will eventually stagnate and believes that Aegon is taking steps to ensure that it will not happen once he is no longer around. Vaemond is remind me of one of my uncles, he is family, we care a great deal about him despite his attitude but he is not someone who we enjoy spending a lot of time with and he also prefers his solitary lifestyle. Though he does show up at family events mostly because we make sure he does. Still it is good to see that Aegon and Vaemond are taking the treat of this other world very seriously and Vaemond has decided that he is going to defy death as long as possible to help Aegon with his endevaours. I look forward to seeing what insight Vaemond will be able to give Aegon now that his Third Eye has been opened and he can magic as well. It also looks like Aegon has progressed greatly in his study and use of magic. If Aegon can walk into a Volcano so easily and use fire to see the future without worshiping R'hlorr. I also love that Aegon has learned how to create fused stone AKA dragonstone. I'm guessing that all of Elamaerys's fortresses and strongholds will be made using fused stone as well. I am curious if Aegon will also unlock the method to make Valyrian Steel as well before he dies. I am curious as to how everyone back in Westeros are thinking and reacting now that Aegon and his branch of the family are revealed as being able to use magic like the Dragonlords of Old Valyria and what they think of Elamaery's sect of the Faith of the Seven. Its also very nice to see that Breannie has managed to overcome much of her insecurities as to not being Aegon and Gael's biological daughter though it did take her some time. The fact that she is going to become the mother of the future Archons of Elamaerys and the First Lady of Elamerys after Gael definitely helped with that I am sure. I'm glad that she and Castory are happy about their upcoming marriage. I am a bit sad for Maegelle that she did not get to grow up with a dragon but I understand Aegon's reasoning and I am sure that Aegon made sure that Maegelle knew that he really did want to have a dragon but he could not break the laws that he set down ensure the safety of their branch of House Targaryen. At least Maegelle knows that she will eventually get to bond with a dragon. I am glad that Breannie understands Aegon's reasoning and I hope that Maegelle understand that as well as I am sure Aegon has given Maegelle the same level of love an affections he gave all his children. Looking forward to the next chapter.

2024-12-09 20:54:42 +0000 UTCThe update to the census happens immediately after their arrival. With immigration basically controlled via ship arrival only, it is impossible to not be accounted for. In terms of immigration growth...basically as lonv as you're fit and willing to work, you're welcome (as long as you're from Lys, Velos or in some rare instances from the former slaver cities) eventually that'd be expanded but not quite for a while.

2024-12-09 20:48:46 +0000 UTC“ Until that was resolved, the same issues that Aegon held in contempt of in Westeros would happen again here in Elamaerys. Vaegon had said nought on the matter. Aegon should have already figured out this problem already.” I wonder what Aegon’s solution is, I’m really excited as I personally don’t see what it could be. There’s no cap on greed and there are plenty of people that’ll use the ability to create companies in order to stifle positive change if it means lining their pockets. Although, with Aegon’s branch having the force of dragons and basically being the entire Elamaeri government, they have the ability to make changes regardless of what the nobles/ the rich think.

2024-12-09 17:16:07 +0000 UTCSuch a tease! So much new info yet so little context! Can’t wait for the next few chapters this month. I really enjoyed the character portrayals here, coming off as more complex and dynamic individuals with their own quirks and personality traits. Also mentioning the toadstone just makes me think well get a Fororlan cameo later. After all, we don’t know what exactly happened to them on that island. Thank you so much for the chapter!

2024-12-09 00:21:59 +0000 UTCI was sorta hoping for a noble POV, but it's nice to see Elamaerys progressing. This chapter really made me see why Vaegon's personality would be uh, incompatible with the rest of his family.

2024-12-08 23:48:04 +0000 UTCThanks for the update. I do feel bad that Maegelle won’t be getting a dragon now but you do raise good points on why these laws regarding dragons are needed. Also glad Breannei is going to marry Castroys and that scene with them dancing at the ending is so cute. Glad to see that Elaemerys is expanding into a grand nation. I have a few questions. How many children does Laena have now since she was pregnant before the time skip. How big are the dragons now when compared to Mc Dragon. Will any of the blacks and greens attended Castroys and Breannei wedding.
