2024-12-01 21:44:05 +0000 UTCIts good to see that Aegon is back in Elamaerys and is now focused on empire/kingdom building and forging a national identity and centralised goverment. No doubt many of the naoble who came directly from Westeros are a bit angry that they will not be having the feudal priviliges they would have in Westeros but well its Aegon's kingdom, so his rules. Plus, it makes it clear that no one other than the royal family will ever have an army defending them. I am also glad to see that Aegon has decided to implement a constititution for Elamaerys and made many of them invioable by anyone as well as written the succession law of the Archonate so that they will be no misreading or different interpretation. I look forward to learning what law and edicts the Dragonlord Council will have to adhere to, I'm guessing we will learn that in the timeskip. I am also excited that Aegon will now be focusing on his studies on magic as well as educating his children on magic as well. It will be interesting to see what new discoveries and understanding he will make in regards to the nature of magic in ASOIAF. I especially look forward to seeing what Aegon will learn once he deciphers the Tome of Serpent Runes that was mentioned in Chapter 37 by his future grandson which you hinted resulted in Aegon deciding to wage war against the Old Gods

It seems that way so far but I was just curious if there is any plans in the future for potential conflicts/plots in regards to any potential natives of Elmaerys.

While getting a POV of some of the minor nobility would be nice I think one of someone like Aethon would be more interesting as he is in a unique position to both slightly understand what Aegon is doing whilst also having a more traditional mindset of a noble. Can’t wait so see how the nation evolves both physically and as a society, especially with so many orphans and kids who’ll be raised in it and damn near worship the royal family. Also food, can’t forget all the new foods that’ll be introduced/created in the coming years (was thinking sushi and curry 😋)

Easily spent 25 hrs research on this chap alone. I even calculated out how much each Elamaeri was owed lmao. Re the narrow sea nobility, that pov will happen in the next few chaps.

And yes, a no private army is definitely going to piss them off but unfortunately, new land, new precedents. And it's not like they were ever going to get much anyways if they stayed in westeros. They are branches far from the line of succession.

Or is it just the Dragon lord council and the special positions like Judge, Head of army (more like an attached cabinet)? I ask because you mentioned cities being able to have a council so some form of elections will take place.
