2024-09-26 15:14:29 +0000 UTCFaith was a big thing in warhammer right? I think all the chaos gods, even all the warp entities were created through countless emotions, and beliefs of all living sentient beings in the universe. Even one of the Eldar i think asked Guilliman if he considered to become like the Emperor using the countless faiths that ppl have for him in the Imperium here’s the quote “To many of your people, primarch, son of the Emperor, you are a god. Because they believe in their billions, does that not make it true?”. Ofc like the loyal son that he is, he refuse to entertain such idea since it is heresy. So i can see Aegon becoming one. Tho rn the amounts of ppl following him is not even close to 1 mil so he has alot of work to do.

2024-09-23 06:57:54 +0000 UTClol yea it should be a trial of seven?!! (it was mentioned in a previous chapter that with his vision Aegon was able to defeat like 6+ of elaemarys warriors, forgot the exact number but it was 6+), and he can go crazy with dual wielding valyrian steel swords and valyrian steel armor

2024-09-22 06:43:41 +0000 UTCThe main reason behind not wanting the kids seems to be his concern that they’ll grow up and get dragons for vengeance or to gain status. Either or would be a great risk for him in his new land, that can not afford to suffer major losses like those taken in the dance. The seven kingdoms decimated the Riverlands and the other kingdoms lost a fair bit as well. Aegon’s new lands don’t have the population or infrastructure to afford a fraction of the losses a dance would incur.

2024-09-20 11:04:55 +0000 UTCI would not be surprised if that is the case. I feel like Bloodraven and Bran would do that. One reason could be because blood raven needs Daemon and Rhaenyra to marry and have their kids so bloodraven can be born. The way I see it Baelon is in the way from making sure bloodraven is born and needed to be removed. I hope Aegon finds a way to break their connection and ability to mess with people.
John
2024-09-20 06:01:38 +0000 UTCThat would be the smart move for Viserys but the guy isn’t the smartest. He won’t even acknowledge the issue and put his head in the sand and just say he’s king and people will follow his word. If it is Daemon that did die he might want to make Aegon stay.
John
2024-09-20 05:58:47 +0000 UTCI’m not going to lie Rhaenyra is on her own without daemon to secure the throne because she has made no friends with her uncle Aegon and Aegon is not going to risk his family for a throne that he has nothing to gain from. It sucks but if I were visery I would make Aegon the younger heir to save the realm from a war

2024-09-19 21:46:34 +0000 UTCI don't think Aegon should be concerned about Gael thinking the children are his bastards. They are all between 2 to 3 years old, putting their conception and birth when he was still with her...possibly even on Elamaerys. Thus the time and location of their birth should be easy evidence they're not his. So take all the kids unless there are concerns I don't know about. The Celtigar daughters were causing issues for Breannei being a bastard, so why should he send more bastards their way. Bran stark and bloodraven, are they actually there with time travelling super powers or is he simply having a vision? Daemons death, I'm not even sure what to say lol...can't wait to find out more! Excellent chapter as always!

2024-09-17 03:16:04 +0000 UTCI don't think he created anything new to this story magic system. In fact, I think the massive, colored gems in the warp were the God-Emperors of Yi Ti.

2024-09-17 01:37:04 +0000 UTCwaiting for that 4D chess move that Aegon is cooking up in retaliation for the interferences being done. Although I kind of want to see Aegon go fully mysterious and dropping crazy facts like he´s the reason why Baelon exist and that he knows about the dragon dreams that Viserys thought only he knew about and that there was a grand plan in motion and that he and Jacharys were the architects of such to ensure Targeryan dominance.

2024-09-16 21:34:15 +0000 UTCI feel like instead of daemon it’s really Baelon wearing Daemons armor, Daemon got too much beef against Aegon for it to end here, could be blood ravens trying to make the dance happen, Aegon will need to flex on this fool, this is my bet people

2024-09-16 20:41:16 +0000 UTCI am more than happy to wait till the next chapter on 28 September which also happens to be my birthday, so it will be a good day to have an update for this story as well. I hope that before he leaves, Aegon will at least put Criston Cole in his place and remind him that if he ever threatens to draw his blade against the Targaryen, Aegon will give him a slow and horrifying death. If thing happen to go down the same way they did in canon in regards to the Dance of the Dragons, I hope that Aegon will at the very least burn down Oldtown and destroy House Hightower, The Citadel and also the Starry Sept if it comes to that.

2024-09-16 20:26:31 +0000 UTCPeople die in tournaments, yes, but a Prince should not, and especially not Prince Daemon who is still 'Lord Fleabottom'. It's as big a news as for example Princess Diana dying in France. Probably a lot bigger actually. And Aegon wants more Targaryens because their blood is quite precious. Literally. You don't want a situation like what happened with the OTL Targaryens who were a shadow of a shadow of themselves. There is some cause to attribute that to their weakening blood as well as events conspiring against them (and they themselves conspiring against themselves). Yes, Aegon's children's children will keep the magic in their blood but marrying others who also have strong presence of magic in their blood will help make sure that the strength of the blood remains strong. Aegon is not sure (The evidence of Baelon and the Hightower Targs is contradicting) how much of an effect weakening of the blood can cause when it comes to 'magical potential'. With Maegelle, Aegon gets another one who is 50% Targaryen and that, in his mind, will help reduce the weakening that could occur, if say, another of his children was to marry someone who has little if no dragonlord blood in their veins.

2024-09-16 20:06:24 +0000 UTCBy the way if they did do it they're the reason every westeros wedding has one death. Would make sense with alot of players in one room to fuck with and get things to go their way.

2024-09-16 20:04:51 +0000 UTCI can't really respond to most of your post as it would ruin things but I will respond to the point of Aegon's time grating on him. Yes. Yes it has grated on him. Imagine being in control over everything, and then suddenly losing it knowing that you have little control. That everything depends on you 'performing' as well as possible. That you have to skirt around the topics you really don't want to talk about there but also make sure that you don't lie because your guards hear you and you don't want to make them think (less or of you in general). Shit's maddening, to say the least. Criston's problems with Aegon isn't personal. Well not him per se any way. It is more with regards to why he is so devoted to the Hightowers and why he's so brazen against even a Prince.
Mosef
2024-09-16 20:03:31 +0000 UTCAll Daemon had to do is not put himself in a situation where he might die, and he even fucked that up. I honestly want this to have nothing to do with the old gods for the simple fact it would be hilarious for Even them to be caught of guard by this dumbfuck.

2024-09-16 20:00:56 +0000 UTCI honestly think since he's created something like the warp that exists in this world, Aegon might literally ascend to a god. Which he definitely doesn't want, but the emperor from Warhammer 40k didn't either and look what happened to him.

2024-09-16 17:00:33 +0000 UTCWhy is everyone so in panic? People die at a tournament. And i dont understand why Aegon is so obsessed with getting more targaryians. He already has his children and when they marry and get kids, Elymeris will have 20 or more dragon riders. ( they can then marry their Cousins, as disgusting it is, some will be incest mad regardless.) Just let the kids of daemon grow up somewhere in westeros/essos or whatever. No one knows who they are and dragon eggs do not grow on trees. And even if, they dont know how to hatch dragons apart from luck. Rip Deamon, the cunt deserved a crueler fate.

2024-09-16 16:05:37 +0000 UTCGreat chapter! You’re pumping out material consistently and of high quality. Although, if you get a chance, I’d love to read about these encounters that are happening instead of being told about them. Eg, that shared meal between Aegon and his brothers, along with Rhaenyra and Baelon sounded rife with tension. Especially since it’s been mentioned that his niece and nephew don’t care for him, with Rhaenyra taking digs at Aegon throughout the meal. If Daemon really is dead will she realize that maybe she shouldn’t be a menace to the Uncle that comes with 8 dragons. From her perspective one of her most vocal and supportive allies has just died.
Te
2024-09-16 12:24:46 +0000 UTCTechnically, all Targs after the Dance could still be descended from Daemon via Baelon. But I was hoping for a scene with Aegon putting Daemon ‘in his place’ lol
Te
2024-09-16 12:14:52 +0000 UTCQuestion did Rhaenyra still slept with Cole and Harwin Strong. Because I thought that was Butterflied away, why would Cole be still bitter and angry against the Targaryens and Rhaenyra.

2024-09-16 09:54:59 +0000 UTCThing is, bloodraven is descended from viserys the 2nd who was a child between daemon and rhaenyra, so yea the bloodraven thing doesn't make sense.
Omgitsbakon
2024-09-16 06:07:25 +0000 UTCIt melts my heart to see Aegon give some fatherly affection towards his nephews and niece, I suspect once the green siblings grows up they see him more of a father than Viserys.
Real_Proster
2024-09-16 05:24:53 +0000 UTCWell this is a very shocking development. I am really hoping that Daemon is not dead and that ths news is merely exaggerating Daemon's injuries and that he will be up and about soon. I doubt that Bloodraven and Bran are would kill Daemon, as Daemon's continued survival would be crucial for Bloodraven's existence, since all the Targaryens after the Dance in canon were descended from Daemon, so I am really hoping that he is still alive. Otherwise, Aegon might have to get his hands dirty before he leaves King's Landing for Elamaerys. Also, I am sort of hoping and events might force Aegon to take Daemon's sons with him to Elamaerys and make sure that they are given the Targaryen name. Besides that Aegon's time in King's Landing must really be grating on his nerves. I am also curious as to why Baelon has no interest in getting to know his Uncle Aegon but for the moment I am going to chalk all that up to that being Daemon's influence. If Daemon really is dead, that that Riverland knight and his entire family better be prepared to face annihilation as Baelon in unlikely to forget the killing of his father, assuming that Viserys does not have the man's entire family put to the sword, after all Viserys does love Daemon a great deal and Aegon despite his feelings towards Daemon cares about his family. I am curious as to what Criston Cole's problem is with Aegon in this timeline as Aegon has done nothing to him, but I am hoping that Criston Cole will die a gruesome death. To draw his sword on royalty especially a Targaryen like Aegon is dangerous. Will Missagorn be making an appearance soon, as I get the feeling that he is not at King's Landing as no one has seen him yet.

2024-09-16 04:43:36 +0000 UTCWoah, what the hell! If this is true, I now understand why you were so dismissive of a Daemon POV. What a twist, this entire chapter turned out completely unlike what I expected. Absolute Cinema!

2024-09-16 04:30:42 +0000 UTCOMG!!! Yes! Aegon would find out how his descendants ruled and if his teachings survived. I imagine that he is the Prince that was promised and he had to come back to beat the Others.

2024-09-16 02:23:46 +0000 UTCagree, haven't started the books (only went halfway through the 1st) bc as morbid as it sounds, that series ain't getting finished
Omgitsbakon
2024-09-16 02:22:38 +0000 UTCthat's the thing, we don't know for sure, maybe the old god seek to once again establish their dominance and wish for a first men king to rule westeros, like Bran did at the end of the show, or maybe they want the world to stop progressing, and forever be submerged into this primitive state for their sick game. With a world like ASOIAF, with Eldritch beings that lurks in every corner, silently waiting, and moving their pieces on a grand chess board, we can never know. George did a rlly good job to keep the ambiguity of this tho in his book, since we know very vaugely about the rest of the world beside Westeros, and most of essos, and all that we know, we know through the voices of maesters, which we all know is not very accurate.
Duy
2024-09-16 01:31:28 +0000 UTCI like this theory, only issue I have (that's more j me being neurotic) is why the old gods wanted the targaryens to be weak and without dragons (I don't count danaerys in essos with smaller dragons as counting in canon).
Omgitsbakon
2024-09-16 01:24:44 +0000 UTCthis or it could have been any other foreign entities that seek chaos for house Targ in westeros, and would benefit from said chaos. Like the Bravosii, but idk how they could have convinced the knight to kill a prince of blood in westeros beside giving a desperate man promise of gold for their descendants, or through coercion by holding a hostage or smth. Or all of this was a freak accident since death happens in tourney all the time, and u're just throwing us a red herring, which is unlikely because that is crazy. anyway i need to chill and stop my rambling cause this chapter was crazy, and u rlly threw us for a loop lmao.

NobleBoy24 .
2024-09-16 01:18:51 +0000 UTCman noooo not this!!!! u left us with a cliff hanger. Anyway, i know i'm speculating here, but the ending there might be caused by the old god and their hiveminds. it's a theory, that since rn the black has 3 full grown dragons and Laena might have lived since she's in driftmark rn and won't go into one of her suicidal home missing mode , and with her not being Daemon’s wife, which for all that we love Daemon, we can admit that he’s a goddamned toxic person, and every person he touches, he cuts them deeply, so she could live, which take Vhagar out of the equation for the green. With the velaryon likely siding with the black, the civil war wont happen, or if it does, it won't be as destructive in canon. So the old gods went and kill off daemon for their song of ice and fire that somehow required the targ in westeros to be in ruined, and without dragons idk. I wish we could have known the riverman's knight identity tho since if he's a Blackwood, it basically confirmed my suspicion, or any houses that are descended from the first men. But all this is just my rambling tho so it could be wrong
Duy
2024-09-16 01:04:02 +0000 UTCTo kill a Member of the Blood? You’re out of your fucking mind!!!! You’re wildin, it’s getting absolutely insane here. Cole better not stand the fuck up. He’ll get shot the fuck down. Holy shit there is a lot that happened here. I thought he would walk up and scare the shit out of rivers and stark, loved the little story time as well. Also, I know Sel was hoping for better, but to mess with children’s futures like that was uncool of her. Immediately should have said something. Also this river lander better be protected by the gods cause there ain’t much else that would stay the sword.

2024-09-16 00:45:33 +0000 UTCOK wow this chap was really unexpected with what happened during the wedding with bran and bloodraven. Then at the end specially with him wanting a marry this girl to one of his sons and then with the big suprise with Daemon dying. I did not see any of this coming so well done. I hope it’s just a misinterpreted rumor because if it’s not that really sucks because I wanted Aegon and Damon to have a sword fight before he left. If he did die then wow that’s really changes things for the factions. I feel like the greens will try to get one of Alicent sons to bond with Caraxes to even the dance out. I do wonder if this is caused by bran and the blood raven trying to fix what they think is the right timeline or is it just butterfly effects from him being born. So what if he does get the eggs from the sea Lord because does he want to hatch them for his grandchildren or does he just wants to prove that he can change the timeline?

2024-09-16 00:18:22 +0000 UTCSo here's a thought: the sequel to tartered dragon would have Aegon reincarnating a second time around the time of GOT. It make's more sense that a second non-related SI or one of Aegon's descendants who wouldn't know much. As soon as I saw that bran stark and bloodraven were written in with mention of how things would stay the same, I immediately thought that the sequel would be Aegon along with most of the GOT characters, which would be dope. Entire canon GOT targaryen line wouldn't be in play (as well as baratheons) if Daemon really died and if his death did happen not sure how bloodraven is still there, but a lot of the other characters would be fair game.
