Chapter 35 Part 1

2024-09-09 12:48:54 +0000 UTCIf he can, he hasn't tried! He wouldn't really be 'breathing' fire. The fire he can conjure is literally just manipulation of energy through the medium of the spirit, helped by 'ancestral talent', so it's not creating fire like dragonfire which is basically a concoction of magical fire, which is different to the fire Aegon can create. Which is why he has difficulty making dragonfire behave how he wants it to behave and instead can only shape it and 'hold it'. He can't change its nature or temperature or anything else.

2024-09-03 19:42:32 +0000 UTC1) RE: Factions. Lol, I could see that happening...or rather i can see more people taking notice of the Velaryons. At the moment they're kind of neutral, ish, so some might start thinking about the Velaryons more. 2) Yes, the Velaryons visiting would suit both parties, in all honesty. As you say, Rhaenys and Corlys are both closer, in Aegon's eyes, than his brothers are. and Rhaenys likes Aegon if only because he's been quite genuine with her from that side of the family. Viserys is Viserys and Daemon always angles for something. Corlys is pretty obvious with how much they have shared although Corlys probably approached from legacy and legend perspective as for Aegon its always been about the mystery, one way or another. 3) Vaegon will be interesting to introduce proper to the story haha! 4) It wasn't mentioned before in the chapters mostly because it was kind of an irritating moment but not really a memorable one. Now though, it looks quite different with how the Hightowers have wormed themselves into House Targaryen. 5) No poison sight. Just plain old spiritual stuff. Unfortunately for him. Otherwise he wouldn't have to be paranoid about everything. He literally brought back his poison sniffing dog because he's so paranoid lmao.

2024-09-03 15:47:37 +0000 UTCI wonder if Aegon pulling up with the Velaryon’s to Kings Landing will make people think that they have an alliance going. I’m not sure if the factions have formed yet with greens and blacks but it would be funny they think Aegon is forming his own faction. I think I would love that idea of the Velaryon’s coming to visit Aegon and his family. To be honest I’m not suprised that he is the closest to Rhaenys and Corlys considering they never really turned their back to him and how well they got along. Oh snap I forgot about Uncle Vaegon. I guess he’s going to hitch a ride with Aegon. Maybe bring a few of close associates he trust to help out. I don’t know why I thought it would have been fun and cool if Saera also joined then you would have all the currently alive children on Jaehaerys and Alyssane living with Aegon and Gael. Too bad Saera got taken out. Question it was said that Gael did not have high opinion of Alicent because how she was sent to read to her father and that Aegon and her step in to stop her. What happened there? I don’t think that was mentioned in your earlier chapters. I wonder if Aegon’s dragon has gotten even bigger considering it’s been a year. Man Aegon’s entrance is going to be epic. Another question can Aegon’s new eye power allow him to see poisons?? Would be cool if they try to poison him there and he can see the energy distortion. And it is something he honestly quite likes doing. Putting boots on necks to people who will never be turned into 'friends'. Unfortunately, he can't do that in the house of his eldest brother, so yes, One-Eye will have to be politick.

She'll always likely question, 'would they have done x or would they have been more x if i had been trueborn?' 2) The best thing in Aegon's advantage is Viserys' demand to have Rhaenyra become queen. Centre on that, and with Aegon's natural talents, he should be able to figure it out. 3) Yeah, he'll have to be careful. You've read a little about his state of mind about this visit. Let's just say that for him, this is a more dangerous situation than being at war. 4) I think everyone is looking forward to that! lol. *Thinks to himself...no pressure!*

2024-09-01 07:30:34 +0000 UTCGood chapter as always. It was nice to fully focus on Aegon and his thoughts at the moment. The first scene with Brieene was well done. I always felt that the fact that she is not Aegon and Gael's biological daughter would pop up from time to time especially during arguements with those not part of their branch of the Targaryen family, but I like the fact that Aegon managed to sooth her worries. Plus, Brieenie will no doubt be marrying one of Aegon's sons, so even though she is technically his niece via Daemon she is for all intent and purposes his daughter in all the ways that matter and Targaryen blood flows within her viens. I agree with Aegon and Gael that Aemond would be the best choice to marry Rhaena to, given his purer Targaryen blood, and the fact that there will be no issue with the last name Rhaena's children would carry as they would be Targaryen from both sides of their family. I hope that Aegon will manage to convince Viserys to agree to this match and that Visery's councilors will particulary Lyonel Strong will see this as a way to remove a potential dragonrider from the Greens faction, if he does it well enough it can make Viserys forcefully put his foot down with Alysanne Hightower and make it clear to her that as King he decides where his children will foster and who they will marry. Its good to see that Aegon feels at home with Velaryons though he is right to be wary given that he has returned to Westeros and that in slightly more than a decade all hell is going to break loose in Westeros. I am looking forward to how things will proceed when Aegon gets to King's Landing. I definitely want to see how Visery and Daemon with interact with thier little brother who is much more accomplished than the both of them put together and whose name will become a legend greater than any of them could ever hope to achieve. I am looking forward to part 2, hope it will be out soon.

He’s already so far above them that it doesn’t really matter much but still, ig it’s the only thing they can do lmao. The offhand mention of him burning down the assassins guild in Qarth + that one dude’s house for daring to try and kill him tickled me a little bit. Can’t wait to see Aegon play Odin the politicker with the lords and ladies of Westeros and Essos.

2024-08-31 23:19:31 +0000 UTCThanks for the chap as I am glad that he’s back but you’re killing me with splitting this chap in two parts. It was getting good that he is finally back in Westeros. Been dying to see what happens in Kings Landing with him meeting the royal family especially Viserys again. I do hope he chooses the Valeryons for his daughter. The reason being that I would not touch the Hightowers with a 10 foot pole because any involvement with any of there children cause people think his family is joining their side. so I would pick the safe route and marry her to one of the Valeyrons.
