2024-09-01 11:04:45 +0000 UTC1) Managing Essos would give him an aneurism. Seriously, he'd never be able to chill. He's already tired of years of war. Imagine decades of it and putting out fires! lol. 2) Re how long it becomes common knowledge - i'd say rather quickly. Most will doubt but when the nobles of Myr inform other nobles, that doubt, at least will be removed. Westeros will be sceptical but some mostly likely will not, like the Hightowers. And yes, should Aegon make it back safely to Elamaerys, he'll create something that eventually, should the heirs be wise and heedful of his lessons, come to dominate the known world and elsewhere. 3) Corlys was honestly probably someone who inspired Aegon the most. And they both know it. Rhaenys was the kind of sisterly/aunt figure that Aegon, though never really acknowledged, really appreciated. 4) The chance exists but Aegon will be reluctant to try, heavily so. He has no basis of replicating it. And to try it on a child who, while not in the best of health but is still fine-ish, is not a risk he'd want to take. Nor would he want to give false hope. No, Aegon wouldn't try it. It'd be too dangerous. 5) Both Aegon and Aemond had potential to become great people. It was simply not to be with how they were raised and what had happened to him. Most people are not born wrong but are a collection of palette of experiences and unfortunately, both Aegon and Aemond have problems that stem from their parents, grandfather and the circumstances they were born into. If Aegon the Elder is capable of prising them away from the situation, they might grow well. Unfortunately, that is something we'll have to see if he can manage. 6) Ironically, I think the kids probably would be quite fine. At least at this stage. A reunion in like 128 AC would be fucked however. Lmao.

2024-08-31 17:29:35 +0000 UTCI hope Aegon's return doesn't turn into an Odysseus-style odyssey and has mystical adventures

2024-08-31 01:17:52 +0000 UTCI love the last scene. It shows Aegon's human side. Im looking forward to the meeting between the siblings.

2024-08-29 12:25:14 +0000 UTCKeep in mind that Aemond was born in 110 AC which makes him barely 3 years old in this chapter and 4 years old in the next chapter. I have always been of the opinion that in the nature vs nurture battle, nurture usually wins out, if Aegon fosters Aemond at Elaemaerys at such a young age, chances are he will grow up to be a completely different person from his canon self.

2024-08-29 05:45:55 +0000 UTCI think the person Aegon would be more willing to take would be Helaena considering her tragic story. Also the chances of her turning against Aegon’s family is extremely slim compared to Aemond

2024-08-29 05:38:03 +0000 UTCI love this comment, it captures the excitement I felt reading the chapter lol Although I am curious about your view regarding Aemond. I’ve only watched the tv show, but I don’t get a great impression of him. Even if his childhood was greatly lacking I don’t think it could justify the type of person he turned into… a kinslaying, ambitious man that would have probably usurped Aegon II. I think Aegon is aware of the book events, which I assume don’t vary too much, but if he could remember the dance I would think he would remember the big players? Aemond was definitely a key Green and isn’t shown in the best light. I admit I’m extremely biased but Aemond seems like a potential live wire. Why bring a Targaryen that would give Viserys a foothold in Elamaerys? I would think Aegon would want a clean separation of the families. But…I could be wrong lol That’s half the fun :)

2024-08-29 01:12:22 +0000 UTCNo the other thing Aegon is missing is lighting bending
John
2024-08-28 14:18:40 +0000 UTCAegon's Firebending has more potential and versatility than those in ATLA. The man can literally heal with fire, become immune to it and can change its size and shape. The only thing missing is to create a Valyrian Firebending martial art.

2024-08-28 05:40:32 +0000 UTCGood chapter as always. The absolute surrender of Myr and them agreeing to all of Aegons terms and conditions which for all reasons and purpose has literally neutered them completely and might prevent them from ever rising to power again was absolutely well done. When I heard the line wher ethe Magisters said that Aegon is barely a dragonlord as the Targaryen no longer possess their magic but just their dragons almost had me burst out laughing, after all those words with context were ironic given that Aegon is the first True Dragonlord that the known world has seen since the Doom of Valyria. The way he used his magic to create a magical and dragonfore equivalent of a nuke was impressive and would no doubt force any nation into submission even Braavos if it came to that. I am almost dissapointed that Aegon chose to create his nation in Elamaerys instead of recreating the Valyrian Freehold free of slavery in Essos but that it neither here no there. I am curious as to how long it will be before it becomes wide spread knowledge that Aegon is a powerful sorcerror and thus making him the First True Dragonlord after the Doom, a knowledge he will no doubt pass onto his children who will build upon and improve. Given Aegon's ambitions and dreams chances are that Elamearys isolation will allow it to grow very powerful without the interference of others after which they will no doubt spread outwards. Aegon will be the founding father of an extremely powerful dynasty of Dragonlords. I love the scene between Rhaenys, Corlys and Aegon and I am glad that their relationship still remains affectionate and grudge free unlike Aegon's relationship with his brothers. I am curious if Aegon will be able to use his magic to help further heal and improve baby Corwyn's health, it would be something that would make the Velaryons eternally grateful to Aegon for. I am surprised that Viserys is suggesting the possibility of Aegon taking on Aemond as his ward. I am personally hoping that that is something that will happens and that Aegon will take Aemond to Elamaerys with him. Aemond as a character in the books and show had a lot of potential but unfortunately the environment he was born into and people who raised him ruined all of it. Plus, Aemond would be a good match for either Brieenie or Rhaena and given that Aegon's plans for the goverment of Elamaerys centre around Archonship with in simple terms is a Targaryen family run empire, Aemond would fit right in with the rest especially if he is separated from the Westerosi Targaryen and Hightowers at a such a young age. It would allow Aegon to mould Aemond into whatever position he would have planned for him and he would have a family with a very healthy relationship with one another. The best part of it is that it will potentially remove the posibility of the Greens claiming Vhagar in the event of Laena's death. I am looking forward to seeing Aegon's reunion with Viserys and Daemon in the next chapter as well as the reaction that Visery's court will have of him. The only thing that would make that entire clusterfuck of a family reunion better would be if Aegon's entire family was also part of the reunion. The level of tension and the number of dragons that would be flying around would make everyone tense and nervous. Looking forward to the next chapter.

2024-08-27 00:29:51 +0000 UTCEhh...not sure tbh. The change in format makes it a real pain in the arse to post there. Plus people didn't seem too interested there *shrugs* so I didn't think it was much of a loss

2024-08-26 09:03:00 +0000 UTCThere'll a little of that in chap 36
Mosef
2024-08-26 08:31:05 +0000 UTCDefinitely Volantis could go and make a large coalition in answer to all of this which would be a very interesting counterweight to the state of affairs! The family reunion is gonna be a ballache. It's kinda like going back to a school reunion, shit lmao. And yeah, Lord Strong is a fav. A loyal man to a fault. He and his House got done dirrty in canon
Mosef
2024-08-26 08:30:43 +0000 UTCYes, definitely can have neg consequences. It'll be up to Aegon's descendants and the 'no-no bad magic' squad to rein those peeps in

2024-08-26 08:24:59 +0000 UTCDuring the Elamaerys arc, there'll be scenes of westeros. I'll be trying to split chaps basically in two diff locations

2024-08-26 00:13:21 +0000 UTCJesus Christ my guy. This was just, ok so we have the first dragon lord to walk the earth since the doom out and about, and people are talking about it. The full surrender of Myr, which will end the strength of slavers as it is known now. Volantis is backed into a wall with no where to go, they could read the writing and save literally everything, even their power though, offer asylum for a few myr noble families in exchange for glass skills to not be cut out of the market. If they capitulate without a fight and turn on the northern slaver cities they could eat up their power and consolidate even more. Any fight against them would be one against a technical ally, giving them a minor shield of safety. Also, we got the big family reunion coming up, that will be interesting as all hell. That’s all I have to say about that. Really this whole upcoming stack is quite interesting, will volantis fight to the death, be dictated terms to, or climb the ladder via chaos. Will the family kiss and make up, or is daemon and Otto try and burn the whole thing down. Also Strong is a great hand of the king, just really showing humility and a willingness to learn that few have, not unintelligent either. All that to say, fucking awesome mate.

2024-08-26 00:11:13 +0000 UTCSecond that would love to see more family bonding and I'm actually really looking forward to Baelon brother interaction it would be funny as hell if Aegon gaslit them with bullshit lol

2024-08-25 23:55:29 +0000 UTChaha so true, brilliant dialouges btw, u made me attached to a random side character with naught but a conversation. Almost felt bad for him in a way since he reminds me of Tywin with his gravitas, but i got over it since he's also a slaver
Duy
2024-08-25 23:48:52 +0000 UTCI know aegon is aiming to have his people understand that nothing is impossible and that they can achieve anything they set their minds too but that seems like it would cause a few problems as some people would aim for something even if they have to go against laws and society to achieve what they want and that would be interesting to see in some side stories after this has been completed to see what his people have accomplished and overcome.

2024-08-25 23:32:33 +0000 UTCThanks great chp, I like the time skips bc the war's winding down, but feel like it'd be a letdown if it's just 1 or 2 westeros chapters and b to elamaerys, also will there be a bravos/johanna scene next chp? feel like both would tie things up

2024-08-25 23:31:04 +0000 UTCYes, next chap will be in Westeros so 114 ac. :( I don't think I can add more without stretching it though next chap will have a Velaryon scene

2024-08-25 22:33:49 +0000 UTCVery good chapter, I hope to see more Aegon and Rhaenys interactions, but I think you said there will be a time jump or I remember wrong?

2024-08-25 22:24:14 +0000 UTCaegon essiantially made an equivalent of a medieval nuke with magic and dragon without the fallout is so bloody brilliant and unexpected.
