2024-08-12 01:53:04 +0000 UTCFair enough in regards to star was fanfic, though I was mainly focusing on the game Star Wars: The Old Republic but yeah you would have to deep dive into the lore of Star Wars and even then it might not be enough, legends star wars before disney took over was all over the place. As much as I dislike what disney is doing with Star Wars, I will say that I am glad that they have made Vader into an uunstoppable being who only Palpatine can control, before that Vader was more like a villian eveyone could beat.

I don't think I'm ready for a Star Wars Crossover and plus its done quite a lot to be honest. I would have to get into the lore a lot before I'd even think about it. Like with ASOIAF, I spent untold amounts of hours reading through all of the lore, videos etc. With a universe like Star Wars, I'd have to spend many times the amount of time I'd spent on Tartered (and Odyssey).

It is always been like that, it will always be like that. The only thing that has changed is that cost (in militarily, moral and social terms) has changed that dynamic for the most part in our present time. Even then, often times, the means of right of might exertion has shifted towards economic and spy agencies. And yes, Gael has grown into her position quite well. She's spent years learning from Aegon after all. Daemon is definitely the kind of guy who pettily and stubbornly sticks to something regardless if his heart isn't in it any more. He might be a bit envious but I don't think he's too envious in all honesty. He really does believe what he thinks. And Daemon is definitely a dark grey character...and so is Aegon in all honesty. He just channels it in a very 'ends justify the means' way.

Looks like Elyria ended up being the hardest of the slaver bay cities for Aegon to conquer and the one that cost him the most. At least it is the last Slaver City in Slaver's Bay that Aegon had to capture. Now all that's left is for Aegon to manage the transition goverment to the Regency Council before he and all his people can head back to Elemaerys and set about building his kingdom. I have to say the most interesting part for me was when Zahrea asked him what gave him the right to do what he has done. In all honesty I think the fact that he could do it and no one could stop him despite many wanting is basically all the right he needed. We can basically ask this question of many kings, conquerors and dictators, what gave them the right to rule over us. in the end it really came down to the simple fact that they could so they did and nothing we did was able to stop them. It even clear in this day an age what with China expanding in the South China sea, America imposing its will in the middle east, Russia invading Ukraine. At least in your story, part of the reason Aegon is doing what he is doing is to spread a but of good despite all the terrible things he has had to do. It also looks like Gael is growing into her role as leader while Aegon is away and she is making sure that their kingdom is being built up Aegon's high standards and that no corners are cut. That an making sure that justice is served whenever crime take place. It also looks like Daemon is a touch envious of his little brother, whom he seems hate simply for the sake of being petty, which in some ways is just plain ridiculous but I can see Daemon doing so. GRRM does say that Daemon is a very grey character but I tend to see as being more black than grey but then again most of the characters in ASOIAF universe are closer to black than white, at least by our modern standards. Though I must say that this season of HOTD is making Daemon face up against all his misdeed and actions, perhaps this will help to redeem him before the end. after all the books regarding Daemon were all written as history books and with no p.o.v. of Daemon himself so HOTD Daemon is the one we have no choice but to look at when trying to determine what Daemon was actually like. Also I have recently found and read your Odyssey of a Mage story series and I have to say that it was very well written. It makes me wonder if you will ever consider writing a SWTOR fanfic with the MC being the a Sith Warrior.

He really does believe that his war against the Triarchy in the Stepstones was way more successful and better than Aegon's war against the multiple slaver states. He barely even succeeded, it was Pyrrhic victory at best or to us readers a complete utter failure.

Because alrdy we can see factions forming and down the line the politics of Astapor and the rest of slaver bay or liberty bay will be even more complex when Aegon leave with his army. Aegon's ships bringing soldiers to Lys, Elamaerys ships arriving at Astapor, Velaryon and Celtigar ships arriving at Astapor, the 7 Kingdoms' Royal Fleet leaving for Tyrosh, and finally Daemon burning the Myrish fleet. Thats a lot of boats and I feel like I might have still missed one.
