Because spare sons don't generally have much agency in Westeros. They're just...there, hanging around. Like Viserys thinks Aegon should have been, in all honesty.

Also, how would the white walkers have access to a shadow binder in the far north? We know from the books that Shadow binders from Asshai can birth shadow assasins.

Aegon brought the book as a means to understand her importance. For example you can tell she's not an ordinary priestess and Aegon had that confirmed, ie being sure that is literate which is a rare thing even for religious figures. Septons for example aren't all literate but those who are almost always important. 3) no fused stone was blown up. Only granite and marbleand rock. Also there is clue to it all, when the guy speaks of the gardens

I do have some complaints/opinions though, minor atm that they are. 1: Feel like we are getting a little to much time spent on Lesella's thought process. In an abstract way it's interesting, but so much is thought/PoV-speculation it take away from the stories flow. That is something though we readers have to figure into, as it seems to be a habit of yours. Not earthshattering, I mean, at least you don't go into even minor details about food! 2: It seems like in the scene with Aegon/Lesella, the book Aegon was carrying was... vanished into thin air? Scenes written like that will be an important element. Then *poof*, forgotten. 3. First scene, in Tyrosh, is written like the Wildfire destroyed a Fortress made of Blackstone/Dragonstone. Which... I'm not sure it can? I mean burn through the building, sure, but destroy the actual architecture? Feel it could use some polishing to more clearing state HOW the wildfire was destroying everything, or at least that it wasn't burning the Dragonstone.

2024-06-28 08:37:20 +0000 UTCA rune scribed orb of Valyrian steel or an etched gemstone like Aemon, idk make one. It’s magic, anything is possible. They can make a horn that destroys a thousand mile wall of ice or another horn that enslaves dragons. The precedent for more esoteric magic is there.

I love the fact that Aegon arranged for the total annihilation of the Triachy leadership thereby leaving them headless, which in a way buys Lys time to consolidate its defense and wait for Aegon to come to their aid. Of course there is also Volantis who might consider this might be the time to regain lost territory that were lost to the Triachy. Its also good to see Rhaenyra and Baelon getting along and Rhaenyra not being disappointed in having to marry him. Hopefully their marriage will prove to be much better than her canon marriages and that Rhaenyra will be faithful to Baelom, because if she is not she will lose Daemon's support as Daemon does love his only son and heir. I loved that you had Daemon immediately have Baelon claim Vermithor the moment they arrived at King's Landing. Daemon was definitely not leaving anything to chance and risk the Hightowers claiming Vermithor. Like I said before most of the realm will see this as a sign that Baelon and Rhaenyra are Jaehaerys and Alysanne come again. Still there is the fact that both Daemon and Otto are right, even if Rhaenyra ascend the throne as Queen, the rest of the realm will look to Baelon for leadership, they will see him as their ruler not her and there really is nothing she can do about it, though its no fault of her own. With all the main dragons claimed, I can see why Otto has gone to Corlys in an attempt to make an alliance, he is desperate to have a dragon on his side of the playing field and Vhagar is the greatest dragon in Westeros, No doubt Daemon also sees this and is hoping that his grandchild will marry Laena and Daeron's children, to further bind the dragon riders all to the Black faction, plus it would be a way to slowly make the Targaryens the only dragonriders. The scene with Aegon and the shadow demon attack was well done again, no doubt this incident of him walking into dragonfire and healing himself with dragonflame will grow his legend even more than it already has amongst his men. Looking forward to the next chapter.

There was quite a few foreshadowing about something happening...and Aegon really didn't expected this kind of attack either. Haha, yes! Honestly, it kinda depends on how they deal with the pressure. Lady Jeyne could get away with not having an heir cos she was a woman but Laenor will have different expectations and by proxy so will she have expectations as well.
