It seems very foolish to even consider the ideas of a 'federation' beinga good idea. The fact that Illos is an amalgamation of literally every culture anyway, makes these other 'nations' or city ships redundant. Allowing them their own version freedom, even IF it is as a lesser member post-exodus is simply ridiculous. The simple fact that they won't has much access or opportunities as those who live on Celestia is enough to prove that. It is effectively neutering a large portion of the overall population by allowing them a more primitive leadership. Take MACUSA for example. Their stubbornness and drive to be 'equal' to Illos by making their own ship, going to the moon etc, is arguably admirable, but logically? Fucking stupid. Their population will forever be behind in all things. Sure, they may eventually be given 'similar' opportunities, with free access to Illosian tech, education and such..But they are still forced to live in a sort of limbo-separation from the real thing. Free to develop their own..loyalties and dare I say it, patriotism (ugh). I think Atticus really needs to take a page from Emily and let HER plan out the last few decades before exodus. It might be bloody, it might be horrible, but nothing short of a completely united people would make sense. Doing it AFTER would make even less sense with how much more advanced they would be making their enemies. More death, more ability to avoid capture etc.. Idk man, the idea of a Federation, and not a straight up Empire makes loittle sense to me after everything they have achieved. Allowing other countries their own city-ships and eventually their own planets makes sense..But only if they were FULLY incorporated into Illiosian culture. They would be their own little kingdoms sure, with their on diverging cultural aspects, but at the end of the day they would still be loyal to the overarching leadership. Hell, they could even be free to expand and do what they like, so long as they are intrinsically bound to the Empire itself though it would make sense. TLDR: At the end of the day, waiting until post-exodus to completely subjugate 'other' nations that refuse to fully bend and want to keep their cultural identity is silly. All that does it allow them the ability to cement that identity down the line, with their own planets and people, even if it's heavily influenced by Illosian culture. Not to mention expand them. That will inevitably result in MORE death and effort due to the population increases. MACUSA, Japan etc all need to be given a choice before the exodus.. Fully submit, or be absorbed entirely. They can keep their freedom and identity, but they need to be bound and vassalized properly. Not mere allies in a 'federation' (ew. Can't believe Emily even went for that shit)

2023-07-05 00:29:47 +0000 UTC1) using Giants in warfare is not as useful as you think 2) it's a combination of things. 2/3+ centuries is a very long time and little by little, appetite for ruling can decrease especially since so much doesn't matter. Ruling for centuries will take a toll. 3) their greatest ability is catching the magicals by surprise now that they cant do that... 4) i like that you noticed that. I think as older atticus and emily get, the more spiritual they get as they understand the beauty of magic and consciousness despite the horrors of the precursors. 5) honestly I'm not thinking that far ahead yet. Have an outline but will take some time to consider what to put in i.e. ahorn being canon. 7) no they wouldn't have. Time and gradual evolution allowed magicals to manifest. The ancinet humans would have been semi magical at best like the xalanyn

2023-06-14 08:11:20 +0000 UTC1# Will/When you introduce the Giants as magical beings? I can imagine the Covenant shaking in fear when they enter in battle and the Jiralhanae (Brutes) going mad about a species with a physique even more prone to battle than them. 2#Is Old-Emily's complacency at least partly linked to them fact of her having children? Is the only way I can think of that takes someone like her off of her path of power. 3# Are there several different Precursors for each timeline or the same Precursors for all of that universe's timelines? 3# It is really convenient that the magic of the Xalanyn are centred on manipulating Time and being fully magical resistant , but it isn’t as if there was space to be anything other than that as otherwise it wouldn’t be that great of a threat to Magical humans. 4#Noted that you are describing magic in an even more spiritual and metaphysical way on the last chapters , that is why the Cullaica vs Li Ley duel seemed so great . 5# If Ahern Dumbledore's spin-off is canon(not an omake), then the Primordial and the Precursors in general are really marking the magical world for harvest by instructing them how to get the Mantle of Responsibility? 6# It is the surprising the profound empathy Atticus has and the lenghts Atticus is willing to go to spare 'innocents' from the knife while more than ready to commit and let happen atrocities to further his goals. 6# Interesting how Dumbledore and the Symbols had ultimately the same goal ,with Dumbledore seeing how to do and softing the Magical World for it. 7# So the ancient humans weren’t able to turns themselves into magicals because their sets of magical DNA weren’t developed enough. So even if they could transfer the set of magical genes they wouldn’t be as magical as our current magicals. Right?

2023-06-10 23:20:47 +0000 UTCThanks for the chapter. So pretty much the Mc create a purification spell and sent the souls within the dementor to realm that has the similarities of a after life. So that they can be reincarnated?
