But seriously, if this is anything like other stories i've read or watched, the chances that Vul'to is about to get some kind of power-up is sitting at a vague but solid 70-90%. And if the Vul'to x Mayneth ship is going to be built and set sail, who is to say that Vul'to wouldn't be able to someday willingly place his soul in an artificial Dragonkin body, if you know what i mean :)

Their reason for visiting being corruption makes sense, he should tell them to just send the patients here, maybe reveal the teleportation ability as a sign of trust, alternatively he could probably teleport half way there with fiend assistance, and walk the rest of the way, maybe use crystals, with Dwarven permission? He just has to waymark out of there when it's time to go.

Would somewhat explain the sealed doors and decreased contact, they're dealing with problems underground and don't want other problems getting in from up top. Or their problems spilling out as they lose ground.
