Then again your description also succinctly fits viral infections which by nature are totally foreign. As of now though only the Potato knows.

2021-12-07 02:23:47 +0000 UTCThe more I'm reading this the more I'm seeing the Blight as some sort of antibody or better yet cuz of the game aspect some sort of the anti cheat software. With the gods intruding and fucking things over with their "Influence" especially because at least for now the Blight seems purely reactive. That in mind makes the Blight's targeting of Rob and the deserters make more sense as the gods have straight admitted to dumping "Influence" to fuck with him and so the system see this large build up of whatever and spawns a blight to clear it, kinda like white blood cells. This doesn't make it good thing but it does fill some gaps....assuming this is even close to the truth

Like, if the dragon queen arrived and saw Malika, i'd find 100% hilarious if she couldn't stop herself from gushing over her, and then promptly losing her fucking shit when she'd eventually learn about or see Rob, a being who at first contact everyone *at least* wants to make sure isn't something from a nightmare

Not even mentioning the fiends At least rob managed to get leveling high back to mild. The fiends can probably cure it. In fact maybe that's the root of why the system keeps them so isolated. Because leveling high was a driving force for humans, their neighbors, and if it could have been solved the humans would've been too strong, too advanced?
