getting a bit in depth here, but i know about 3 polycules off the top of my head and they get along fine. like dont get me wrong theyre absolutely a hot mess but that's pretty much my entire social circle and/or myself lol. it's a very queer centric community so perhaps that's why there's a higher incidence of it, no need to cling to norms when all that's already been thrown out the window. like i know it can melt down in a truly extravagant fashion, but idk, these days i just don't have the energy to prejudge people for trying something different. More power to 'em.

2021-11-19 03:30:29 +0000 UTCEh, it kinda does. It's true it takes more maturity for a poly relationship to work, and that's because they have a very delicate foundation. I have seen several poly relationships among friends in the past and the longest one lasted was about 8 months. On average they last between 1-3 months from what I've seen. The simple fact is love is not pure and innocent, there is a degree of possessiveness that comes from loving something...and although this isn't inherently a bad thing in of itself, it definitely leads to resentment and jealousy when you feel the thing you love is not devoting the same amount of feelings towards you. This becomes even more complicated when you add in the fact that most people see self-sacrifice or even just loyalty as one of the best demonstrations of your devotion towards someone, and it is easy to see why the train of thought "if your partner cannot even deny their own lust towards other people, how much do they actually value you over their own physical desires?" comes about. Simple fact is, historically, poly relationships are very hard to successfully maintain healthily, even when everyone involved is emotionally mature.

I digress, problems between 3 people having complicated relationships and one liking someone who likes the other person in the group is about as realistic as you can get. Shame it didn't work out this time I'm still holding out hope Keira and Zamira can work shit out together and we get (Keira x Zamira) + (Keira x Rob) Also that's unexpected, Rob's soul looks sus to them, and a fucking coup But given that he's not even from this planet, and that he's died, and that his skill is sentient, and that like a 4th of his soul is literally just corruption... And whatever the fuck those black chains did when dragging him in.. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation

2021-11-01 09:03:17 +0000 UTCReader since near the beginning (around chapter 25), first time commenting - found you on HFY but it intersected with my obsession to find good Isekai, and find it here I did. In relation to your author's note I hope I'm not overstepping by commenting my feelings on the matter (of polyamory) here. I'm not against people being polyamorous, but there's a story called Deathworlders that just soured the whole concept to me. It was shoehorned in at every possible moment, feeling like a buildup to a death, but the death never came, and it started feeling like author wish fulfillment, which paired with the obsession of well-muscled men of military bearing it felt like the whole story started slipping toward borderline fetishism. So long as your story doesn't do the whole writing degeneration thing, I don't foresee me liking your story any less. Plus, what consenting adults do in their bedrooms is their own business. If anything, I like when the story "fades to black" and skips any sex scene, I'm not really reading Isekai novels and HFY for the hot or heavy stuff... Except when there's pancakes. (Also sorry for like the 6 edits to my comment, scrolling a longer comment on mobile is impossible)

The point I was trying to have Meyneth make is that she believes that a triad type of relationship is very likely to fail the people involved *aren't* mature. If that was unclear, I can revise that bit in an editing pass.

Anyhow, you think these cliffhangers are bad? Some of my followed stories take up too half a year to update, ignoring the ones that are dead. We only have to wait until Thursday. But yeah, I'm really curious what they see in Robs soul. Afterall he's from another planet, he's died and been resurrected, and he's attuned himself to Locus of power, which I assume is a sort of Genus Loci or Dragons Vein. Also, Taleya seems to have been accepted in the group, which is funny since she basically treated them as kids she had to babysit...

He literally can't fuck this up unless he suddenly goes insane, declares himself soul devourer of the world, and start killing people on the spot. It’s a natural response and I couldn’t imagine sharing my partner with another person. And while I hope it doesn’t turn into a triad type of relationship, I am looking forward to the romantic drama coming to it’s conclusion soon. Good chapter!

And here I was thinking they were upset about the festering mass of corruption that was taking up like 1/4 of Rob's life Given that they specifically asked whose soul he devoured(also confirming the soul devouring is real), I doubt it's just a difference between Earth and Elatra human souls. Could they be seeing Diplomacy as another soul? Or maybe it's related to whatever happened to him when he got ripped over into Elatra. As for the Keira situation... *fuck*. I've dealt with issues of feeling like no one would ever be attracted to me, but to have that be "confirmed" by something like the system that is supposed to give you a skill when someone becomes attracted to you? Just... *fuck*. On top of the other issues stemming from the events alluded to really gives a new light to just how miserable Keira must have felt for decades. As if the end of the world wasn't bad enough.

I was referring to people getting a bit rude in the comments section regarding people's romantic preferences in real life. Didn't happen often, but as this is a romance-heavy chapter I wanted to make a note to head off any potential issues.
