Don't read forward if you don't want to read my prediction. It looks to me the gods are helping them not hurting them... but just as Rob said, they have limits on how they can help. Vul'to was given a skill that gave him significant stat increases if he is alone. Which is the exact weakness of a Vanguard class. Orn'tol needed to run faster to save people on multiple occasions. Yes, the skills are listed in a seemingly insulting way, but in the end they turned out helpful. Could be the "gods" are stretching the limit of their "restrictions" to give them abilities they need.

2021-09-26 08:24:04 +0000 UTC@Mr Damage Completely agreed. I personally believe that it enhances a story's realism when characters speak realistically (including making fallacious claims). I would love to read a "real" fiction story.

2021-09-26 08:19:34 +0000 UTCDoubt it would work, but it's the thought that counts right?

2021-09-18 19:45:52 +0000 UTCAs a side note - if you're purchasing the book for the sole purpose of supporting me, getting the kindle version is just as effective in supporting me as the paperback version and costs a lot less. I'm only saying this because you mentioned waiting on a paycheck and I want to save you some money if possible. If you want the paperback version just for the sake of a paperback version, then hey, go crazy!

2021-09-17 04:22:39 +0000 UTCAny story where gods and mortals have this serious-but-also-comedic back and forth is a win in my book. Can't wait to see how Rob will start making fun of the gods when his Attunement lets him take 100% less damage when attuning to a locus of power, i bet he'll see the god(s) again and just start roasting them lol

2021-09-16 18:37:03 +0000 UTCUnless I'm totally blanking out in my own story, the only names that have ever come up during when the Mysterious Voices (tm) speak are Kismet and Vivacity.

2021-09-16 18:12:02 +0000 UTCI thought the human god's name got mentioned during the brief interlude where the gods were talking about Rob?

2021-09-16 18:09:26 +0000 UTCHell yeah, book collections! Hope you've got enough space on your shelf, cause I certainly don't anymore. Thanks for the support, my guy.

2021-09-16 14:20:04 +0000 UTCNow we have confirmation that the gods can interact with Rob on a personal level and even cause him enough mental damage to become nothing but a crying, bleeding heap on the floor or even ourltright kill him. This begs the question how will this shape the future high stakes situations Rob finds himself in? Will he have to worry about every fight going sideways because the gods find it funny that he be suffering instead of participating? Does he now have to plan on being incapacitated at random when he can't afford to be?

2021-09-16 10:42:14 +0000 UTCI prefer to leave dialog alone, unless there is a grammatical or clearly unintended spelling error. Authors and readers have time to dream up the perfect word for a situation but characters have to make do with whatever springs to mind in the moment.

2021-09-16 09:01:19 +0000 UTCI was going to type "how could you leave us hanging like this" when my experience informed me that the next chapter will be nowhere as exciting as I imagine it might be, so I calmed down instead.

2021-09-16 07:53:59 +0000 UTCSide note. Another enjoyable taunt would be "Shaaaackled!" Even mentioning them being shackled apparently makes them lose their shit. Rubbing their noses in it again, whether now or in the future? Priceless.

2021-09-16 07:45:14 +0000 UTCI thought we knew at least which race worshipped what god? The elves have lothren, the others have I don't remember

2021-09-16 07:42:43 +0000 UTCRob is the only one who heard them. The others in the room just saw him start to bleed out his eyes and scream right after he started shittalking them. Not much info has been given about who or what the gods are.
KamikazePotato
2021-09-16 07:42:18 +0000 UTCYay new chapter! Did the others in the room hear the gods whining or just Rob? Also love how he clearly hit a huge nerve with the gods, and that we got coin fuckers name, kismet. Which races god are they again?

2021-09-16 07:26:56 +0000 UTC"Most people feel unmotivated when looking at a longer-than-average grocery list.>" Unmotivated, while a real word, seems a little clunky or misplaced here. Intimidated, daunted, dread or so on feel like they'd fit better. At least for me. Also the struggle to say "fuck you" is as enjoyable as always.
