obviously, you have to find what is sustainable for you. Anything else is, kinda by definition, futile (or at least short lived, and that way does not lead to much good). So, don't burn out, do as you must. If folks eventually need to adjust tiers, they can do that. It'll all work out...but only if you make sure it stays good for you (the author). Readers come and go, but if the author wipes out..."game over, man!" as the Private Hudson once said. :)

All I can say, is "Surprise Assassin" crew, out to murderhobo EVERYONE for being "The Enemy", or Elite Kill Squads out like Adventurers is one thing. Imagine if say; "rival" Dragonkin come out, to 'finish' the deed, or go on an utter warpath to make an 'example' out of Rob (at best), or try to torture/see where he's from, so they can murder every single one of his 'escaped kin'?

2021-07-09 23:58:59 +0000 UTCCould be both. That said, something is off. We know that humans reached this continent by both in an attempt to escape something, and the blight are on this continent. Does that mean what happened on Earth is not the Blight, that humanity never told anyone they were running from the Blight, that they didn't know it was the Blight and only infected attacked Earth, or even that they weren't running from the Blight? Furthermore, guns worked against the infected, so modern weapons work. Why were no war machines mentioned in the scouring, even just dropping bombs from cargo jets 10,000 feet up would be useful. Something is off. That said, it might explain how the human mages were able to co-ordinate magic so well. Or maybe, just maybe, Rob isn't talking about the city here. He did just say, 'Earth'.

2021-07-09 23:57:12 +0000 UTCIt's too much of a coincidence though that this happens to Rob all the time, when things that are unlikely to happen, happen repeatedly, it's not a coincidence anymore, it's a pattern. You may be right that the system doesn't control the blight, but the fact the system openly mocks Rob, and now passively doing so to his allies, does not give the intention that it considers them favorably. And with all of these negative events happening one after the other, it's not hard to believe that the system is...well...rigging the system for this stuff to happen, as in while it's not directly causing them harm, it may very well be pushing for these encounters to happen.

2021-07-08 12:32:44 +0000 UTChey guys, to be honest i always thought of the system as passive spectator, rather than active, it laughs at you if you fall, but it nevers causes you to fall. in fact i do not get where rob and buddies got their theory (either the animosity toward rob, or making it diffucult for him), to assert that system control everything is to assert that it control also the blight, which does not seem the case , considering what we have heard last time the 6 beings (gods) spoke. basically everything that happened in the elven village , would have happened either way, with or without robert. the fact that rob seems to gets more attention from it, it could be related to his otherwordly status, last human, or just plainly because he is funny.

From an objective perspective, I won't say take ALL of the time you want, as you are getting paid by donations to write these stories, but you have plenty of leeway to take a break either way.
