All good options. In a world (and social situation) this dangerous, a group GTFO is very, very likely to be a literal lifesaver. It'd be a hard call, but I'd have gone with that one. Either of the others could be good, hard to say w/o knowing the future. But a escape button? he needs this so much.

2021-06-04 18:45:42 +0000 UTCClass change wouldn’t be the worst choice. It might actually be the best immediate choice for his survival. Zamira agreed to come with him. Being able to upgrade her to a class that actually suits her skill set could greatly improve the parties combat potential, which they might need. It’ll also help balance their party, since at the very least Orn’tol and his sister are probably join them. Orn’tol already has the ranger class, so having Zamira stay a ranger might be redundant. If Orn’tol’s sister doesn’t have a class yet either it would get them a potential mage. I’d probably choose the storage option, because I bet it’ll give him the exp share back. Getting to level 5 probably won’t take too much exp either, so he’ll probably have time to choose 2 of the options.

Gaining a few of them each and every day for himself and his allies would cause some fairly immediate gains. The only issue is keeping it secret, which means isolating from everyone. Of course, the authors never try to leverage these advantages...

You could convert crafters and merchants into warriors in a day. And vice versa. Its incredible for management capabilities. But requires a huge amount of micro/macro work. Storage sounds handy for transporting items you otherwise wouldn't be able to take with kn their travels. And the way points sound incredibly useful for exploration and transportation. You could evacuate an entire city to another country, barring there are no distance limitations. Honestly. I'm not sure which one I would have chosen myself. I'm particular towards the way points for safety purposes. But the immediate needs for possible class changes sounds better suited for the class changes. And thinking about that more, it sounds like the crystal bearer functions exactly as I imagined it would. He is literally a walking, talking version of the crytals he inherited(absorbed?). And the only limitations to his utility and usefulness, is if he is only limited in being a crystal bearer for a single type of crystal. Since we know there are apparently others out there in the world. It also begs the question of if he consumes the crystal upon gaining its benefits? Or if he merely uses it as a catalyst. Because if he doesn't use the crystal up, then he could theoretically just waltz into a larger city and just borrow the crystals for a little while for his subclass to gain their benefits and leave. With no one the wiser. Lest they see his new abilities on his character sheet. Which ALSO reminds me that he needs to find a way to hide his subclass and extra abilities somehow from being identified. Or else he risks starting a war, or at the very least, being cut open for study, on how his powers work. Unless he can just use the excuse of "being a human". Because everyone just seems to assume that humans just don't give a flying fuck about rules or the status quo.

2021-05-17 08:48:24 +0000 UTCAll three of those are so good. Storage would probably be the most immediately helpful by allowing him to access the exp share, sword and just store stuff. The class crystal one could help a lot of people change change classes without losing their levels on the journey. I have a feeling Zamira will benefit from that at some point when she swaps out for swordsmen. The mark would probably be really helpful for dungeons. Place one in your room at an inn, go dungeon diving and come right back.
