Oil colours?

Let's talk about color grading and framing.  What is that in frame that makes it look like an oil painting? I often mention Caravaggio as an ultimate inspiration in not only the colors but the composition itself. His 'characters' are rarely still, they are frozen in a moment, they are alive. Even his 'Sleeping Cupid' seems to be full of movement in his dream, you can almost feel his breath. His 'blacks' are full of contrast, it's bright yet dark. The main focus is on the highlights and whites, that what's gives the depth. Often do I find myself composing my frame based on the same vision. Main object is right in front of the main source of light which allows to have a dark, full of contrast background, moving forward the object not just physically but also color-wise.

If Caravaggio was using Lightroom, what his highlights, midtowns and shadows be like? To me his highlights seem yellowish, shadows often greenish, just like film, yet warm midtowns. I would be glad to hear your opinion.
