Hi friends,
Today we are going to see what exactly this "Black Diffusion" filter is for and how it transforms your light capture.
At first, I bought this filter for my 35mm lens only as it is my mostly used lens especially for self portraits. I do work a lot with both natural and artificial light and often find it to harsh, thus leading me to edit with a bit of extra work to make sure it looks soft and cinematic, simply because this is the style I am working with and "film looking" shots are my go-to edits.
In order to demonstrate how exactly it diffuses the light I used one of my portable led lights, capturing it both with and off filter. I attached both color edited and raw files for better comparison how it looks straight from the camera and after Lightroom adjustments.
After a week with the filter on, I realized, how much closer to the final edit my pictures look straight from the camera. All the work with highlights is minimized as the light looks softer, cinematic and indeed, dreamy. Without overthinking, I placed an order for my 50mm lens as well. I attached pictures for both with sizing.
From the company: this black soft 1/4 filter could soften the wrinkles, freckles and pores of facial skin, making it more delicate, plump and gorgeous. The hazy film effect can be better realized, showing dreamily film effect. In order to ensure the ultra-high definition image quality, the double polishing process is adopted to ensure the high definition within 550mm focal length.Reconmending use it in video shooting.
