Hey everyone! I have been meaning to get on here and write a proper blog. The world is INSANE right now. I made the terrifying decision last weekend to pack up my car and leave Los Angeles til stuff calms down. I have family from New York staying at my place in LA (watching my big dog too), and I decided to take my little dog to Nebraska to my boyfriend's family home-its a bit of a fallout compound. I drove separately, and got stuck in Colorado 2 days from a snow storm. It took 5 days total to get out here. We are safe, have plenty of food and a fully stocked house. I'm overwhelmed and frightened by everything. Being away from my friends and family, my roommate is stuck in Germany for the foreseeable future and I'm concerned that she may just not pay rent anymore and leave me with an overhead I can't handle. I am scared of not being able to work enough....general survival. Every photo shoot and job I've had booked has cancelled for the next 3 months. My biggest convention of the year for my clothing business has cancelled. Patreon is literally my only lifeline for survival currently, so for those of you who can afford to stay, please do! I'll do my best to keep everyone happy and stocked with beautiful images and fun videos. Don't let the naked arts die, help keep a model clothed and fed ;)
I didn't bring enough projects with me because I was thinking that this would be max, 2 weeks. I brought my taxes (which is usually 3 days of me crying and stressing each year, but I'll probably extend it to 8 days and do it more gradually and cry slightly less). It is still pretty cold here is Nebraska, but my dog is LOVING farm life. A cocker spaniel/dachsund doesn't generally strike me as much of a hunter, but I let her off the leash yesterday and she definitely gave it her best. She chased 3 different wild bunnies all over the property. While she had no chance of actually catching them, I seriously think Lucy (the dog) was living her best life. It is amazing how one species is living in fear of an illness, and other species have absolutely no idea. I'll bet the last week or two of quarantine has been the best week for dogs. All of their owners are home, giving them snuggles and extra walks. I've often joked that god backwards is dog, but I genuinely think we can learn a lot from these creatures. They get joy out of such little things, and I need to do that too. I want to pick up on my reading, get more physically active, remember to appreciate everything around me. I've gone to karaoke almost every week for the last 5 years. For the first time its not an option. This is a good reminder to call people you love, not just text them. Check in on everyone.
Anyway, all I know for sure is that the world is about to change forever. Even if this illness disappears overnight, it is going to have a long lasting effect. I'll try to get more active on snapchat, this road trip has made it quite difficult, but I've landed now :)
hugs to you all. Please stay safe and healthy.
