I've been at a standstill with what to say next. My Playboy experiences were such a whirlwind from 2007-2012. After my Halloween party experience, I wrote the email that sent me an invite with a thank you letter. I didn't even know if it was a real person or an automated message, but I quickly got a response from Joyce Nizzari (she was a former playmate who then worked in the offices). She seemed kind and happy to be appreciated (I suspect she was rarely thanked), and then invited me to a Fri or Sun at the mansion. Due to my travel schedule (because I lived in Florida at the time), I decided to go up on a Friday night-the evening they played older movies. Because it was classic film night, there were less girls and a lot more of Hef's friends. I immediately sat down at the table, and was told "that's Hef's brothers seat" so I moved to the next seat and was told it was someone else's. No one told me where to go, or what to do, but each thing I did I was told to do differently. It was a bit frustrating because there is no manual. I ended up hanging out with some guy who was producing a small time magazine that Hef invited up because he thought he had potential. This guy was even more awkward than me-so at least I had someone to share the weirdness with. At this point the tv show the Girls Next Door, was hugely popular, and Holly, Bridget, and Kendra were less and less involved in the daily routines as tv had made them big stars. I can't remember Kendra even being there that night, but I do remember Holly skipping dinner, but showing up moments before the movie and curling up to Hef. I grabbed a seat in the back to watch (for the first time) Sharon Stone's biggest role - Basic Instinct. When everyone was seated, Hef stood up and read a long paper he made that afternoon of the importance of the movie in film history. I loved that he did that. He was still so interested in educating people and being involved in everything happening at the mansion. I loved the movie, and can't imagine experiencing it any other way. There were a few celebrities there (Jon Lovitz was a regular Friday night attendee), but for the most part, it was just Hef's friends. I was antsy to come back, experience other events, see other parts of the mansion besides the dining room and theater. I wrote Joyce and thanked her, and again found myself invited back when I traveled to Los Angeles a few months later. Okay, I've got to head out, but I'll add more to the Playboy stories soon!
