ACTION BUTTON REVIEWS Cyberpunk 2077 premieres TOMORROW 10/26/2021
Added 2021-10-25 21:46:21 +0000 UTCI was about to announce this on Twitter when I realized I needed to announce it here first--out of dedication to my earlier proclamation that this blog page here serves The Real Stuff, and also for consistency's sake: ACTION BUTTON REVIEWS Cyberpunk 2077 is finished. It is exported. It is uploaded. It is processed. It will premiere (in a tricky capacity I cannot at this moment divulge because I dare not spoil you) tomorrow, 26 October 2021, at 6pm Eastern.
Yes, 6pm Eastern--I dare not append a "Standard" or "Daylight" to that phrase because, really, what time it is is what time it is, whatever the worker-exploiting government-mandated clock trickery asks us to say about it. I will play along with their guideline--again, for consistency's sake (I wouldn't want to be perpetually an hour early to appointments half the year), though I won't let their buzzwords slurm into my mouth, much less out of them.
How was that? Was that politically unambiguous enough for the portion of you that crave such?
I must admit I found myself gasping aghast at an accusation-flailing occurring in the comments under my previous post. A man nominated me "apolitical"! I swear my gasp happened via entertainment: it fascinates me that someone might think this, even after I ended one post earlier with the declaration that one should EAT, not merely BITE, the hand that feeds them, because the owner of the hand that feeds you is eating food they afford with YOUR money. I do not speak publicly of my political views in any manner less nebulous than that, because if I did, I'd frighten probably most of you. Though especially guys like that guy.
To be most honest, I also remembered to post information regarding the video's premiere here on this page because, just as I was about to post such information on Twitter, someone tweeted at me to ask "Well?? Any updates??" And I found their use of multiple punctuation obnoxious. Then I remembered, hey, I know some other people who might like this update first.
THE PREMIERE: DETAILS
I intend to livestream an ACTION BUTTON REVIEWS Cyberpunk 2077 Special Premiere Event at 6pm Eastern on twitch.tv/actionbutton. During this stream, I'll screen the opening segment of the review for a live audience, followed by a twist. I will not spoil the nature of the twist--only that a twist in fact exists. Once the twist has sufficiently twisted itself to exhaustion, I will set the full form of the review to public on youtube.com/actionbutton.
I expect several comments both here and on Twitter asking that I delay or re-maneuver the Premiere time to some other clock-position for such-and-such time zone. I'm sorry. It has to be this way. I live here, in the North American Eastern Time Zone. Also, I know approximately how long this premiere will take, and have a good handle on how long it'll take all of the premiere viewers to watch the rest of the video. I wanted to do this on Sunday, though everything got in the way (once again). I'd wait until this Sunday so that a larger percentage of everybody has the day off and is free to enjoy, though really, enough is enough. We're launching this thing on a Tuesday so I can be done with it, and finally take the muscle relaxers I was prescribed for the not-video-editing-unrelated destruction of my neck, and watch Shrek with Mimsy like I promised months ago I'd do when this nonsense was dead. While she watches Shrek, I'll be watching Big Shrek.
At any rate, consider the premiere sufficiently announced!

I am going to take some kind of a walk. Then I will come back here and make sure my Twitch streaming setup still works. It's been months, Jerry. I probably have to, like, update two hundred drivers. What's the deal with drivers? Are my computer hardware devices CARS? What kind of car is my Elgato 4K60 Pro? Maybe one of those Smart Cars. If Adobe Premiere were a piece of hardware that were also a car it would definitely be one of those San Francisco buses that looks like an old-timey trolley though is actually in fact Just Another Bus.
Well, that's enough of that. I'll make another post tomorrow--you know, the one I always (feels odd to say "always" about a series that's only six episodes in) make on the day the video launches, with the thumbnail in it and everything. Then maybe one week later, once enough of you have reliably finished digesting the video, I'll start talking about what will happen in season two.
And somewhere around that time, I'll begin releasing the backer-exclusive bonus segments for this review. Wow: I've got over two hours of bonus trash for you all. Some of it is excellent, and some of it is . . . lord. It's hard to say what the other some of it is.

I stopped watching yr videos after the FF7 review because they’re long as hell and I don’t have time for that, but this one was broken up into manageable chunks so I gave it a go. Will check in with my review of Action Button Reviews Cyberpunk 2077 sometime in 2022 or 2023, I suppose. The opening act has been amazing though, I've played it as all three classes.

By the end of Story #5 I had my fist raised in the air in elation -- we don't do that in England! Bravo, Tim. PS: it seems as though Story #6 is only in 1080p; at least, that's the highest the Youtube app on my CX would let me choose. I know others have said that video doesn't even load on iOS.

And with one notable exception – I would definitely let Judy kill me – I agreed with most of what you said: the quiet moments between chases and gunfights had some of the best character writing and storytelling I’ve seen in a AAA game in years. Great casting too (still hard to believe that female V is the same voice actress who played Makoto). But even without the considerable PS4 jankiness, I don’t think the “gameplay loop” would have done much for me. Part of me thinks Cyberpunk would have worked better as a dystopian walking simulator or an expensive VA-11 Hall-A remake than GTA Blade Runner. Still, I had a pretty good time despite the general brokenness of everything. Excellent work, sir. Looking forward to playing the review to completion.

I met Panam, did some missions with her and met the Vooddoo Boys and that's all. other side missions get vacumed until i turn off the game from exhaustion. but most of all i enjoy just being in this game. I hope you all had the same or close enough to my experience.

But after a year excitement begins to sour." And although the latter half of that quote might be applied to not a few people 'round twitter, for me the former has only grown stronger this past year. Great job on finally finishing the thing, man. I'm not your dad or nothin. But a good break is definitely earned in my opinion
