Cell size?

We're working on some new FlipDungeon textures to tie in to the dungeon crawler boardgame that we're developing at the moment, and thought we'd get your advice. While we lean toward the traditional cell size for grids (25mm or 1"). This time, we're leaning toward a larger cell (30mm), which would be nice as it gives a little extra wiggle room and means that big things (like yetis... there will be yetis) can fit in a single tile. Obviously we can (and likely will) provide both (and maybe even some for 15mm scale or thereabouts), but then have to provide alternate rules for larger bases and it can just get unnecessarily cluttered when you want a streamlined rules set. Anyway, the old 25mm vs 30mm cell thing isn't exactly new, but where do you stand on the issue?

Voting 30mm so, y'know, zombies can have outstretched arms, etc.

Thankfully the design scheme for the FlipDungeons doesn't include/require actual walls, which is always an issue when you're dealing with the 1" grids. But yeah, I find that I like the larger 30mm squares. (I am 100% cool with negative space serving as walls.) It doesn't increase the volume of the map too significantly, and it's just nice to have that space available.

I think there is a case to be made for "true tiles" scale, or 1.25" scale. In practice it means a 25mm base can fit in a square with a little room to spare, even there is a wall on the edge taking up some space. youtuber Wyloch made a convincing argument for it, and on my Patreon my group overwhelming wanted it when I was doing tiles.
