Oddtober #12: Gearing up

"I suppose these fringer weapons are better than nothing," scoffed First Lieutenant Blyse. "Remember that you're under my command now, and that disobedient soldiers will meet summary execution under my watch." The two enforcers squared their shoulders, posturing to support their superior's threat.
"You listen to me," demanded the Director, loading an energy cartridge into her pistol, "we're dealing with something more dangerous than your imperial rank-and-file bullshit. We're probably not going to survive at all, but even if we do, what we're facing could threaten the entire Slipstream."
Blyse folded his arms. "Yes, and what are we dealing with, exactly? It's time you told us about what you've been up to here...."
This is the 12th entry for our "Oddtober" event. Every odd day (up through Halloween), we'll be releasing some models following a sci-fi horror theme (all following a light narrative), adding them to the $5+ reward folder as we go. Today's models (two researchers with weapons) will require supports when printing.
