What does "Finished" actually mean? Are we ever really finished? My prediction - It will be "capable of sailing" by the end of 2025. It will be "live-able" Q1 of 2026. It will be "comfortable" Q4 of 2026. It will be "finished" when Sierra is the Captain!
Troy
2024-07-18 11:32:26 +0000 UTCChristmas 2025. I see a trimmed tree by your couch and a Christmas puppy for Sierra.

2024-06-29 14:38:15 +0000 UTCAlso, will you have a Mizzen? if so I think the masts and rigging might be the most expensive. Cheers!
SV Trippin'
2024-06-28 13:25:42 +0000 UTCSo tell me about the mast and rigging. Will she be in mast furling?

2024-06-27 02:54:30 +0000 UTClove the settee comment, such a critical part of it for us, spending sooo much time hanging out - love our large settee - we have a projector and movie screen we love!

2024-06-25 19:50:40 +0000 UTCMy prediction is, shakedown cruse no later than 22oct2025, and aluminum is going to be the most expensive! I know it's early in the build but, what is your some of your goals for the electrical, solar production? wind? Battery capacity? And Voltage type for most appliances?
Richard Kitterman
2024-06-25 01:23:31 +0000 UTC06-12-2026 rigging most expensive (if you count as single item)
Daniel Boekel
2024-06-24 16:45:53 +0000 UTCWhich side will you put the engine on? Will your trampoline have a net? How many softball bats did you have to melt down to build the frame? Which glue are you using to put the deckhouse on top? Will the heads be aluminum, too? How much oil will the sails need? Is there a flat fee for renting wind, or do you just fill it up as you go like a SIM card?

2024-06-22 20:51:07 +0000 UTCWhat about balsa wood? Light weight and good r factor?

2024-06-22 04:33:07 +0000 UTCSplashing on April 12, 2026 Where is the Moonshine Lab going to be installed? 😁😁😁 A Blackboard for creative drawings by Sierra would be fun…I have one on my fridge, so funny. Interior is indeed going to be a challenge. Fabrics, colors. Unless your thoughts are made on that. I can see Brian having a blast at all the technical part…like a child in a Toystore 🥳🥳🥳

2024-06-21 16:57:28 +0000 UTCGreat prediction 🥳🥳🥳

2024-06-21 09:33:18 +0000 UTCSaturday 4th October 2025. It will be on long weekend, in the land of the long weekends.....

2024-06-21 09:31:30 +0000 UTCUse a combo depending where it is? Maybe use spray where you will never have to get to again but anywhere there's a chance you will need to fix or maintain, use sheets. Digging away foam will be a pain but sheets can be modified.
SV Sirene Spirit
2024-06-21 07:36:18 +0000 UTCI'm thinking Monday, March 3, 2026. I think the most expensive component has got to be the aluminium. Maybe have people guess the cockpit color scheme. I really enjoy the weekly timelapse videos. Thank you for creating those.
Dan Foye
2024-06-21 03:27:06 +0000 UTCWish I had insight. I am sure there is a cost difference. Moreover, while spray insulation seems the way to go now in construction, I wonder how it would hold up over time in such a more dynamic environment where the surfaces flex more.
Andrew Hlavacek
2024-06-20 22:07:26 +0000 UTCApril 15 2026 for splash down. Also can’t wait to see Sierra doing bike lapses on Delos 2.0

2024-06-20 16:56:42 +0000 UTCKazza will not let you like 3 things? I like the Party Plaza Deck! Hard to even imagine how much fun you all will create there. Sept 14, 2025 Launch. My Prediction? in 4 years ..... You will built your own new metal spaceship boat with extending hydroplane foils....... at the new Trautman LTD manufacturing plant in Sweden, with a larger building, where Delos 3.0 doesn't have to stick out in the parking lot. Marta will be the CO. Papa D will crack the whip. Hopefully Brady will get a nice family price ..... on his first metal boat order, made with a lot of "blueing". Keep 'em flyin

2024-06-20 12:52:58 +0000 UTCKind of off the subject, but I was thinking you would need a fundraiser to help with these big ticket items maybe an auction for an aluminum cut Delos Buddha guy or something else? I’ll start the first bid how about 100 bucks

2024-06-20 12:31:08 +0000 UTCStill researching…. Got any tips??? Spray or EVA sheets?

2024-06-20 08:16:03 +0000 UTC22/5/26 would be my guess! 22/8/26 is my Bday Kazza😂 finish before then! There will be some more big $ hits Mast etc & rigging Batteries & electrical system. She will be a beautiful boat when finished

2024-06-20 07:50:46 +0000 UTC12.13.2025 - but really hope you beat that date :-) ...watched the video after my original post and had to edit...It's a GO for 12. 2025...LOL

2024-06-20 06:53:30 +0000 UTCI'm going with June 18th 2026. I'm excited to see Sierra bike ridin the whole boat! For tradition you know, woohooo! 🎉😁

2024-06-20 03:55:40 +0000 UTCMy 2 cents. January 1st is when Australia was founded, so sounds like a good time to go. Midwinter break fits in with Sierra's school. Shake down cruise to New Zealand.

2024-06-20 03:00:26 +0000 UTCMy guess is it will be ready for launch in March of 2026- it will be here before you know it

2024-06-20 02:41:56 +0000 UTCWhen talking about incorporating a still, Brian mentioned plans for it "in the shop". An engineer with a shop just about guarantees continual mods!
William Flower
2024-06-20 02:32:31 +0000 UTCOk well is a boat ever finished! How about when you first sail her. May 24 2026
Richard S Florence
2024-06-20 02:29:26 +0000 UTCIMHO it would be insane for a boat lift to NOT have a scale. You must know whether you're pegging the lift's capacity.
William Flower
2024-06-20 02:24:32 +0000 UTCI'm predicting you'll take a mental health sail sometime in 2025/2026 and then finally set out on your shakedown cruise on 2.0 around New Year's 2027. IMHO, you'll never be completely done, because new designs open up a "can of worms" full of interesting problems to solve. And Brian after all is an engineer... My favorite feature is the added room which will eventually lead to taking on additional crew. Crew interactions over the years (including several romances) have topped my list of interesting points of the Delos journey!

2024-06-20 01:09:10 +0000 UTCBE SURE STILL, SAILOR MUST HAVE RUM AT, I SAY AGIN SAILOR MUST HAVE RUM AT THE END OF DAY OR SAIL. FOR MEDICINAL PUURPOSE. SO INSTALL A NEW STILL CAUSE WE SAIL DEC.15.2025 OR FER-14-2026. I WANT TO BE ON DOCK ON SAILING DAY. FROM MIKE MIMS FL. LOVE YOUR ADVENTURE.

2024-06-20 00:34:03 +0000 UTCSo fun! 1. Thanksgiving 2025, 2. Interior will be most difficult, 3. Best Feature....you'll love this one: You will need a bar with a "Nugget" Ice Maker and built in large blender. There really are "Nugget" Ice machines! They are expensive but really make all drinks awesome...Look on Amazon for the GE Profile Opal 2.0 (how's that for coincidences - "Nugget and 2.0)!!! Lastly 4. most expensive single item...Hybrid Drive with solar panels and batteries.
Skip Vail
2024-06-20 00:12:41 +0000 UTCSeems like you are progressing at a very good pace! I predict sometime in March 2026…..not sure if you’re familiar with the door latch hardware on YYACHTS Y9 sailboat but in my opinion it’s the most effective and simple design I have seen,

2024-06-19 23:35:45 +0000 UTCAug 21, 2026. :) Omg...I just watched AFTER my prediction (posted after reading only)... only 1 day before Kazza's prediction (my date has 2 special reasons...).

2024-06-19 23:35:28 +0000 UTCNew Years Day 2026, most challenging is going to be the paying for that beautiful vessel. Most expensive parts will be the propulsion system which includes the batteries.
Jeff Cure
2024-06-19 23:28:25 +0000 UTCHaving built a couple of yachts from the ground up and a couple from hull and deck kits, it is a truly challenging task you have set for yourselves. The fit out is what truly takes a lot of time especially if you are doing it all yourselves to a high standard. The hull is actually the fastest part of the build. I'll gamble on Christmas 2025 at best if you are doing it all yourselves. Happy to discuss further over shots at the flip party 🥳🍸
SV Sirene Spirit
2024-06-19 23:28:20 +0000 UTCI predict she will never be done, but she will sail November 10, 2026. Spring for those down under.

2024-06-19 23:18:53 +0000 UTCWe’d love to know more about the cost projections and planned timelines, even if they aren’t perfect projections, etc. And whether you’re going to sail a bit while you’re building 2.0? What about delos? Will you sell her or keep her? Will you fix her up? So many questions!

2024-06-19 22:42:30 +0000 UTCHey surfer dude! love that shirt, I think the labor on the joinery will be significant, BUT, that is one bad ass boat, say goodbye to sea sickness and no worries about hitting something that can sink a fiberglass mono, and all that room! you'll be dodging icebergs in Svalbard soon, best of luck.

2024-06-19 22:20:36 +0000 UTCYou could predict who will be on the maiden voyage. Or what the biggest change will be you’ll go through as you’re building her. Or how fast she will be, how much she will weigh or how many total work hours will go into her in the end.
