[Hereafter] Chapter CLXXXVIII: A Quarter's Admission
Added 2025-03-15 13:03:53 +0000 UTCStill haven't found a solution to my invisitext problem in markdown, and apparently, it's not working as intended across all devices even with HTML and epub files. I'm doing what I can here, guys. I tried a different kind of solution by converting the html file to epub instead of creating and editing them both separately, so I have to hope that fixed the issue for at least those files.
Anyway. This chapter's title is a pun that won't become obvious until much later. This is also a very large chapter, clocking in at nearly 8K, and it is wholly and entirely exactly what the last chapter's ending set it up to be. I wasn't sure we would get anywhere near that far, but somehow, by the time I had covered everything I wanted to cover and gotten where I wanted it to be, we finished out less than a hundred words shy of 8K, so I guess there's a lot to sink your teeth into here.
Enjoy, guys. We're right near the end of Act 1 of NAET, and there're a lot of bombshells that still haven't landed yet.
EDIT: Moving down all the way. 4/26/25

It's a binary, 50/50, so if his powers are 100% functional, he can call both and then keep the timeline where he called right. Of course, I think his power isn't working, but that's because his power IS precognition pretending to be something else. His original coin test had him having a speech with built in breaks to flip the coin. If he succeeded, he kept that timeline as proof of his power. If he failed, he skipped that flip until the next one.

But she definitely knows Coil is going to be a problem, and would have been already fighting against him if he had the Grail at the start.

2025-03-15 14:50:34 +0000 UTCThat is not how the coin flip test works for his power. His power isn't a form of pre-cog, so telling the result before the coin landed isn't something his power can do. This tells me (and possibly Taylor) that he was bluffing, and that his power isn't actually working.

2025-03-15 14:15:12 +0000 UTCI’m calling my guess for the inevitable twist that’s coming up later: Taylor is operating under a misconception and Coil is the one that she should be fighting instead of the Westies.
