[Hereafter Material] Morgan’s Expeditionary Force [Noble Phantasm]

Morgan’s Expeditionary Force [Noble Phantasm]
Plundering the Spanish Main

Captain Morgan’s expeditionary fleet, gathered for the purposes of sacking Spanish territories. A total of thirty-six ships make up the standard deployment, although another twenty or so can be added if the situation calls for it. There are even decoy ships that might be used either to mislead the enemy or to act as a suicide attack, although they possess no other means of fighting.

The Satisfaction acts as the flagship and is Captain Morgan’s main vessel of choice for travel. However, as he was an admiral in life and used several flagships throughout his career, these other ships may be used in many ways. Typically, Captain Morgan will use them as decoys to prevent the enemy from determining which ship is the true flagship, but by switching flagships, it is possible to alter the makeup of his fleet in accordance with the part of his life where that ship was his flagship. Because this can result in the number of ships available as part of the fleet being reduced, however, he prefers to use the Satisfaction.

It is possible for the entire fleet to attack at once, unleashing a barrage of cannonfire enough to reduce enemy ships to splinters, but Captain Morgan prefers to use clever tactics and precision strikes to defeat his opponents. Although the performance decreases, he has a tendency to use decoys and misdirection to keep the enemy from noticing as he positions himself for a single decapitating attack from an unexpected angle.

While such a strategy lacks in terms of raw firepower, the efficiency of such a thing should not be understated. It allows Captain Morgan to expend far less magical energy to achieve the desired result, making longer, more drawn out battles more feasible.

The natural weakness, of course, is an enemy who sees through this ruse. Captain Morgan’s worst enemy is a strategist as accomplished as he is.

Comments

I'm not confident in my handle of Roberts' personality, is what it really comes down to. He also doesn't quite fill the role I needed Morgan for.

Speaking of pirates and forces, what made you decide to forgo adding Bartholomew Roberts, despite being a canonical pirate Servant and expressing dissatisfaction at the lack of more of those in the Singularity?
