EDIT: A certain someone chewed too much of the scenery, so this ballooned and the actual journey to Mount Etna will be next chapter. As a result, I decided to change the name.

Right, I forgot about that. IIRC, it was given as an example of just how much destruction was caused by the deployment of Counter Guardians and how indiscriminate it could be. I don't recall there ever being a more complete explanation about that, though, like how it was accomplished or which Guardian was deployed. I very much doubt it was Emiya himself.

More seriously, Vesuvius *could* technically be a more powerful ley line, or it could be that the reason it erupted in the first place is because the ley lines were shifting and it reached a tipping point that resulted in the Pompeii situation. It could also be that it's more powerful, but is less connected to the rest of the continent's ley lines, which would make it less ideal for the team's purposes.

She just gives some silly comment about, "In the future, one day everyone will want to be a beautiful woman!" Remember, Taylor even remarks on it in the narration, how she'd never explicitly said she was trans or anything, but doesn't correct Taylor using female pronouns, so Taylor stopped trying to figure it out.
