Scaeva’s Wings. Marcus Cassius Scaeva’s primary Noble Phantasm.
Named for his personal squad that served under him for much of his early career in the Roman legion, this Noble Phantasm embodies that aspect of his legend and bestows increased strength, agility, and defensive power upon those under his command, allowing him to share his power with his subordinates.
Those designated as members of the Alae Scaeva receive increased abilities, putting them on the level of Servants, albeit weaker ones. Ordinarily, this might mean they aren’t a threat to a proper Servant; however, because their defensive power is boosted most significantly and they receive a further boost to defensive formations, it becomes possible for them to hold out against a vastly superior enemy using the tactics that made the Roman legions so famous.
In life, the Alae Scaeva were likely a much larger group consisting of over a thousand men. However, as a Noble Phantasm, the number of soldiers which may be conscripted is limited to a meager two-hundred, and as the efficacy of this Noble Phantasm decreases as the number of targets increases, strictly speaking, the ideal number of soldiers to make part of Scaeva’s Wings is limited to about thirty.
