Update (10/31/19)
Added 2019-10-31 17:56:29 +0000 UTCThings got a bit...rough, this month. For several reasons. One of them was just the natural consequence of the fact that Essence was never planned to go beyond Leviathan, so piecing together where the story goes from there has been a bit of a trial.
The other part is, late last week, a friend of mine died. He developed a pretty aggressive form of cancer, and it metastasized and spread rapidly. It was all over and done with within three weeks. The viewing was Monday, and I went and paid my respects to a friend I had lost touch with and now will never have the chance to reconnect with.
As you can imagine, that threw me off my game quite a bit, so I'm going to be taking an extra week longer than my longest estimate to get my head back on straight and try to dive back into Essence. For Sufficient Velocity and Fanfiction.net, Essence will resume on Saturday, November 16th, and I'll make an announcement in the thread to that effect.
For Patrons, I'm about 3k words in on 8.1 and it's probably about 80% to 90% done. I should be able to get it out for this weekend. Then, I can get into 8.2 and hopefully find a rhythm again.
Thank you, everyone, for your understanding and your support. This year has been a bit rough, and I'm expecting I'll be losing my grandmother sometime soon, too, so... I'm bracing for that.
