Promise 7.9
Added 2019-08-21 14:51:43 +0000 UTCThis kinda ballooned out of control. It came fairly close to reaching 7k and getting split into two separate chapters, but in the end, it fell short by about 800 words.
So...There's really not much I can say here that won't spoil way too much of this chapter. Still all-Herk, all the time, this chapter, but it won't stay that way next chapter.
In terms of where we are in the fight... Next chapter should be the end. The chapter after that will be the falling action, the wind-down from this action-packed second half of arc 7, and then we'll probably have a second interlude and cap it off with Pendulum 0.5.
Once all of that is done, I think I'm going to "officially" take a month-long break and leisurely construct arc 8. Not sure how that'll work for you guys, yet, but at least for SV and FF.net, most of the month of October will be a "James doesn't post anything" month.
As for why... The big plans ended with Leviathan, because it was the final step on Taylor's "learning to accept Khepri" journey. Arc 8 will have to pick up from where the pieces will have dropped, once the Leviathan fight is done, and carry on with an eye towards the future.
