Interlude 6.c: Fire For Effect
Added 2019-05-11 23:10:38 +0000 UTCThis...was a pain in the ass. Like the rest of arc 6, it tried very hard not to get written and I had a difficult time getting the characters to work with me. Fortunately, it didn't take half a year or something equally ridiculous.
My editing team and I debated hard about the direction this chapter was going to go and what made sense. I hope the result doesn't disappoint you guys.
In the end, Miss Militia didn't get to say nearly as much this chapter as it being her interlude might imply. I kind of shrugged my shoulders and said, "Oh well," because this was really Taylor and Piggot's show.

The Wards is not the end. The team and I discussed also where the story might go as a result of this decision, and just because she joins the Wards now does not mean she and the PRT/Protectorate are on completely good terms. What happens in the wake of Leviathan might very well change the situation again in an entirely different direction.

I hope Taylor took her bullet proof necklace and enchanted bed home. Also if your implying that Taylor will leave the ward's after the battle of leviathan then that's only in 4 days. Would it not be better if Taylor says she will decide if she will join the ward's after the endbringer fight.

"But if you were up against the entirety of the Empire’s roster of capes or, say, the Teeth up in Boston, would it be so easy to handle all of them with a single one of your heroes, all at once? Wouldn’t it be better to have someone — a team — to handle the others, while you fought the biggest threat?" Hah! Yes, she can! I'd like to see the Empire or Teeth try and fight Heracles, for example. The other points are valid, though. And Danny's being the lame character he is, but oh well, I'm used to that. Even if I hope, whenever starting a new fic, that the author won't use him much/at all.
