It's some more fluff, with the addition of a new character. More setup, in other words, and sometimes, I just want to get to the action, too, but the setup is necessary so that the action set pieces make sense.
I agree with Taylor, though. If there was fanfiction about me, there're certain topics it might cover that I definitely wouldn't want to hear about.
