Essential Material: Gáe Bolg Prototype

Gáe Bolg Prototype [Noble Phantasm]
Soaring Spear of Deadly Thorns

The original form of Gáe Bolg, one step older than the spear wielded by Cúchulainn. Possessing neither the attribute of attacking an enemy army nor the homing function of its descendant, nor reversing causality to pierce the heart, it might best be described as a weapon truer to the myth.

The spear is cast by Aífe with all her speed and strength, streaking through the air like a missile, and when it pierces the flesh of its target, it sprouts dozens of deadly thorns from its blade that rip and tear the enemy apart from the inside out. A sure kill technique that will absolutely result in death, no matter where it lands.

The thorns which sprout rupture organs, shred muscles, and rip arteries. Only those with enhanced constitutions who can fight with deadly wounds will not die instantly. For those who are not immediately killed, the bleed effect deals constant damage that will inevitably result in death. Even those who survive the initial wound have only a temporary reprieve from their final fate.

A quick scroll through the Worm wiki shows you're right. In either case, losing his Corona would be enough, so as long as Gae Bolg Proto hits the right spot, the thorns SHOULD reach deep enough to shred it. That's some serious luck required to manage that, though.

Not sure if it's fanon or cannon but I remember reading that Crawler doesn't need his brain to survive and that his Corona is in an extremely hard/small 'core' somewhere in his torso.

If Gae Bolg is HP+100 when it hits as intended, then Gae Bolg Prototype is 90%HP+Bleed+Modifier, where the modifier is a damage modifier added based upon where the spear hits the target. A headshot or a heartshot are normally instant death, but Crawler would probably survive the heartshot by growing a second or third one (if he doesn't have more than one already) and should survive long enough to outlast the Bleed status. Headshot would kill him, though. Hard to survive and adapt around dozens of thorns shredding your grey matter and ripping your Corona to bits.

Caractacus

I have to wonder what something like this would do to Crawler. Would it prevent him from adapting to the damage or just prevent him from regenerating, in which case his body would likely just render the damaged parts unnecessary for his continued survival?
