Who's to say that their parents aren't affected? Also there's quite a big difference between seeing someone during a couple of classes and maybe over the weekend, and spending most of your time waking and sleeping within range. Don't forget that powers in the Wormverse are setup to screw people over...

2017-10-21 23:14:06 +0000 UTCNot sure I agree with that assessment, canon or no. Love (or obsession, whatever) is hard to cause. If it was so easy, everyone would love Vicky, not just Amy. I can see Amy being affected, likely maybe having a crush or something. But if Vicky's aura was the sole cause, then every time it was dampened, (every time Vicky was called out on how her aura affects people) Amy's feelings would dampen too. They don't though. And if the love me aura was that strong and on that much, it would affect everyone she was in long contact with like her parents, not just Amy. Her powers are a radius deal. They affect everyone around, not one person or another. Wildbow just needed a reason to make Amy's feelings more acceptable because people are squeamish about siblings, even when They are adopted so it isn't really incest. People freak about it because of their stupid inhibitions despite facts like biology and being unrelated. More likely, Vicky's aura merely created the opportunity for Amy to love Vicky all on her own. Opening the possibility to her mind where normally she wouldn't have considered it. But once she had thought of it... That can of worms was impossible to close.
