This means that there will be an extra interlude for each subsequent arc, starting with arc 3. You guys already got a taste of what it looks like to have a bonus interlude - Overture 1.b was supposed to be an example, but it turned out to be a not very good one.
Now that we're here, though, I'm thinking of removing or changing the $500 goal.
Wait, now, hear me out.
It was fine and even good to have three interludes in a story when there's 100k+ words and ten or more chapters between the beginning and end of an arc, like it was with Miracle of Zero. There was way more content and way more stuff happening in between to keep things interesting and not to bog down the story. However, in a tighter story, like Essence, where there's maybe five or six chapters and maybe 30k words between the beginning and ending of an arc, having three interludes feels like it would clutter up the story.
The story always comes first, to me. You guys are awesome and I'm so very grateful to each and every one of you, but I wouldn't be writing a story you liked if I let the story serve me instead of me serving the story.
I'm not sure, yet, what I'd replace the current $500 goal with, if I didn't remove it entirely. But I'm sure I'll think of something.
