An Essence of Silver and Steel: Disillusion 2.4: Bad End 1

Or "Darwin's Law." I went for full-on irony with the title, here, as you'll see when you read it.

Remember I was talking about divergences on Sufficient Velocity? Yeah, here's a big one for you.

Not very. Most Blasters and Strikers that have powers that deal direct damage would have a fairly easy time with ONE Dragon Tooth Warrior. In FSN, that was never the major threat they posed. The problem is that there's a whole BUNCH of them. Dealing with one is pretty easy. Dealing with an army is much, much harder.

How effective would a Blaster or Striker have to be to put one of those down? Also I'm certain the authorities wont be happy about SS being dead in public.

All Bad Ends are canon to Essence unless stated otherwise. So, this is something that actually happens in the story. You'll see what I mean in 2.5, which, through the quirk of me being so far ahead in the writing, you and all the other $13 patrons get access to on Google Docs. And yes, Dragon Teeth are actually pretty dangerous. They're about the level of an Olympic athlete, in terms of physical capabilities, which makes them a serious threat (in Worm) to anyone not a Brute or Mover.

Oh dear, just caught up. wonderful delicious powers and stuff. Also, the anime really understated how dangerous those Dragons Teeth Warriors didn't they? so does that mean in the normal chapter she doesn't get bisected?

Yes, it does come back to Mystery. See, Servants can't avoid other Servants' attacks just by turning into Spirit Form, because they'll still get hit. Since I'm pretty sure the Astral plane in Nasu is a higher dimension than Sophia's shadow shifting, Sophia was unable to avoid getting cut in half, and things ended the way they did. To be honest, I think it's a bit of a shame that I didn't have room in the story for giving the Trio redemption arcs, because those are always more satisfying, but with the situation what it was, I didn't see another route Sophia would have taken in this story, so she reached an unfortunate Bad End.

Whelp, that escalated. Frankly, Taylor might not even be at the house right now. It seems like this is an automatic bounded field of some kind. (If Taylor was watching and manually controlling them I doubt she would go for lethal force that quickly and she mentioned something like that when she was chatting with Lisa). Also why exactly were the familiars able to cleave Shadow Stalker in her shadow state? Their attacks aren't magical to the best of my knowledge are they I thought they were simply very very sharp? Then again they can harm servants so I guess they by definition have to be...
