This was the time when LCD game were popular toy for kids to play at school and on subways. Splatterhouse was arcade popular so Namco decide making one the same. They also did Pac Man and other LCD games.
Interesting thing for the retro history lover:
This game was made by a company called Varie. It is not a company name I see often when research for retro gaming.. ! But there is one game I remember this company did because it is famous rare on Super Famicom: Undercover Cops !
This was very good version of the arcade game by Varie and the only home version ever release. Maybe you remember the box::
