Holy shit. I feel like I was bombarded. First, being reminded for one of the first times that Violet's only a 14 as we see her becoming emotionally invested in a children's play. The father's back story. Violet's tears. The incredible shot of Violet attempting to run across the lake. Her finally finding the sense of guilt from the war. The almost immediate whiplash of her learning about the major from a casual encounter. I need a break.
