Opera Singer Discovers The Vtuber Music Rabbit Hole

This is the non-copyright claimed version of the recent vtuber video :)

this is one of my favorite vidoes you have done

Second fun fact, although not really so fun but maybe more fascinating, is that specific cover of Stellar stellar came out a few months after Suisei went on hiatus to get throat surgery done but due to production setup and delays was actually recorded very very soon after the surgery period. I don't think we know the exact timeline for privacy reasons but essentially she had to get the surgery done but that recording date had already been set and that specific performance on the First Take, a channel about only getting one chance to do a song, was I believe the first thing she had recorded after recovering from surgery. One extra little thing that makes it a little special with the community.

Finally got around to trying to watch the original, was very sad with the copyright claim. Thanks a lot for making this available for free, I'm definitely going to poke around a bit more when I get more money. I might reply with some fun trivia or stuff they may not touch on as I watch the video in the comments. The first one, and what prompted me to post here, is a fun fact about Nerissa's cover and she spoke on it at various points about how she actually localized the original japanese into English for the cover herself which had an extra layer of difficulty because not only is it translating the original intent but also matching it to the rhythm and beat of the song and the original vocal intention but keeping the tone musically. The best example being the chorus itself which originally just says the name of the japanese original "Aishite, Aishite, Aishite". A direct translation of that would be closer to "Love me, love me, love me" but the song sings it like "Ai-E-Shi-Te" (sorry for probably improper phonetics) so she instead used the "Give-me-your-love" to match the original 4 beats and notes used for the pronunciation. Just a fun fact that she did that herself.

ok so now that vtubers have been discovered you could fill countless hours with them!! In Hololive alone are soooo many exceptional talents with different kind of styles and genres

Ironmouse also covered Ashite Ashite Ashite. Or rather she sang it during some karaoke streams. She doesn’t sing it operatically but you can hear its influence sometimes. Definitely worth a listen.

I hope you'll look into Stellar Stellar's original version at least in your own time. The First Take version does a beautiful job highlighting the finesse of her voice but the orchestration of the original is wonderful. She's absolutely my favorite vtuber, and I'm absolutely a hipster for her; her early music (namely her first album, Still Still Stellar) is full of emotion and relation to her struggles because she was so heavily involved in writing the songs. I feel her more recent work, while popular (Bibideba mentioned), is almost over-produced and pop-industrialized partially due to being written FOR her as her popularity has her too busy making appearances and performances to "spend all day" writing her music any more. Yet, I love her.

Yes of course! So bummed about copyright

The 1 song I REALLY want to see you react to now that you're doing Vtubers is Mori Calliope's "End of a Life". It's an incredibly emotional piece, and I'd love to hear your feelings on it.

MegaNovaShizzle

Hopefully you can check out Cecilia Immergreen's Wind-Up that she composed and produced herself (With some help).

Thank you for making this free for all to see.

it is an absolute tragedy that Nerissa's cover of Lilium got nuked by copyright, because I would love to see your analysis of that. Absolutely gorgeous cover. If I remember correctly, the owners had originally given permission for the cover, but pulled it later.

i'm not entirely sure if it was mentioned and i missed it or night, but while nerissa did a cover of aishite aishite, she was the one who translated/created the english lyrics that she sung. so it's sort of like a cover with her own unique twist and being a fan of hololive back when mazumaro was working on 'myths bad end' was so awesome, becuase he kept releasing bits and pieces of it for a year. it's also filled with a bunch of easter eggs and references for hololive fans

Sorry wasn’t on for free members - fixed it!
