Apothecary Diaries/Anime
Added 2025-04-30 17:13:24 +0000 UTCHey gang,
5 episodes in - I find im dragging my feet with this as much as I want to like it. So, I'm going to be switching to Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. Prologue episode made me cry so I'm very invested in finding out more. I'm sorry that that might be a bummer, I just don't really want to watch something im not connecting with no matter how cute MaoMao is and how meaningful the story is, which I know it is...Anyway...ya.
It does also speak to the broader idea that all this anime stuff is ultimately me exploring. I don't know the medium and obviously finding things to connect with so I can say damn this is awesome is way more important to me personally rather than going with what is critically received or audience in general received, if that makes sense. It might take some exploring and patience while I find something that I click with - some things I just will bounce off of.
Thanks for understanding in advance and sorry for the delays this week, coming off Clair Obscur :)

Apothecary Diaries is my go to anime when it comes to taking a break from action packed/gory/heavily emotional animes. So it’s meant for a relaxing watch. That said, there are tons of other great animes out there. I still wish you will do an unblurred version of AOT, I dont know how far you’ve watched the anime now, but it truly is a top tier anime, if not THE best out there. I also agree with Violet Evergarden, it’s a stunning anime to watch. Also, maybe try anime movies as a way to help you ease into anime? It’s shorter than a whole series. If you are interested with that, then I can recommend A Silent Voice and Your Name.

Of course, we fans of Apothecary Diaries will be a bit sad that we won't get to rewatch it with your input, but we all have our preferences and can show maturity and understanding. I myself have trouble getting into a lot of shonen, so I have never watched HunterxHunter or Full Metal Alchemist, despite the general opinion on those being overwhelmingly positive. I'm fine with Frieren-like shows, slice-of-life, and romance animes, with occasional animes that diverge from that (and there is already so much to see and so little time to watch it).
