There's a small detail in episode 27 that always gives me chills when I think about it. When Serie is talking to the first class mages about how Frieren supresses her mana, her student Lernen compares Frieren's true mana to Serie's. Serie says the only other person to see through Frieren's suppression was the Demon King himself. And yet even Lernen never noticed that Serie's mana is also supressed. If Serie's supressed mana is comporable to Frieren's true mana, imagine how monumental Serie's true mana must be, a fact that presumably no one in history has ever realized... Until Fern saw Serie's mana and was frozen in terror, not because she saw the mana that the others feared, but because she was the first person in history to comprehend just how much of a monster Serie must really be.

While I appreciated your music analysis as always, what I appreciated the most was being able to connect on an even deeper emotional level with the show on the re-watch thanks to your insight and experience as someone who has lived through more of their life and experienced more loss. I think that's what makes this show truly beautiful, that one's perspective on the show itself and the passage of time can change as they experience that same time pass, or become more aware as they experience life alongside others. Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch along with most other shows on here, as I am in the process of, or plan to watch them myself and want to avoid spoilers. But again, thank you for posting this series, and perhaps I will be able to enjoy re-watching the other series with you as well, after experiencing them for myself!
