"I love her voice" > I agree. Serie's voice sounds old. It's perfect for an elf who has lived through so many eras. At 42:14, this is the part I was talking about in my comment for the previous watch along. The use of the track Frieren the Slayer in this scene has had the biggest impact on me, this is the scene I remember when I hear that music. Just hearing "I've finished analyzing the barrier", you know Frieren is about to do something incredible. I love it.

The combination of the music, the visuals, the pacing... It makes it all glorious, almost eye-opening. The really outdid themselves. I'm glad you appreciated it as much as I (and many others) did.

Mainly because I like seeing people watch everything unfold under their context in the pace of an episode, and/or discussing thoughts after it's finished. Though I don't mind the opposite, I understand the want to pause to say something, especially as a way to not speak over the content their reacting to, and share it in that moment! Seeing your reactions so far, I've enjoyed how much you've come to like the anime, voice your thoughts, and your analysis on the music in it!

After Fern had finished her fight and was holding up the dude with the white hair and she bluffed about killing his teammate, she shows two qualities I don't think we've seen from her up to this point. She has a level of cunning and intelligence to come up with a lie that allows her an her team to win without having to sacrifice anyone. Another thing is that I actually really like Dengen! Less so as a person (Although... I don't think I dislike him), but definitely as a character. He's not just a one-sided deceptive villainous old guy. They show he's powerful and has the capacity to kill solely for his own gain, but he's pragmatic about it (maybe not the best word.) And his relationship with the teleport-y girl also implies he has a deference towards protecting young women. So if Frieren's teammates had been different people he may not have cared if rock guy had killed one of them. Dengen also has a quality where despite his age he still has a burning desire to test his strength against other powerful mages which I think is really cool.
