Frieren 1x15

I remember a comment pointing out that, while Frieren might look heartless when she immediately considers leaving the village, she actually has a good point. Mages can do nothing against curses. She can barely even recognize she is being attacked. So, as a mage with a lot of experience travelling alone, her reflex is to go to the nearest village, where someone more competent, like a priest, could actually do something. That's smart!

Amidst all the other daily greed (the dark patterns in internet marketing, the over-leveraging necessary goods/services, the obfuscation of value in a transaction), this is a bright spot, easy, clear, and joyful. About the episode, I've been waiting for this one *specifically* because I think its one where the music does the heavy lifting as opposed to plot elements or character beats. The fight with the flower I think is cool almost exclusively because of the OST, and it was neat to hear you bring up the two variations on Zoltraak. Never picked that out before. This, to me, is a bottle episode that perfectly illustrates why the construction of the show makes Frieren what it is separate from the substance of itself and how the OST bolsters that every step. Its not necessarily iconic, but it is clear imo.
