THIS IS LATE COMMENTARY BUT-- this opening is my favourite so far in the series lol. It's really the lyrics that get me. Which I get if you are listening to it and don't understand the words why you might be taken back by the music, but the lyrics are just perfect for Frieren. I also interpret the fast paced music to kinda represent how Frieren lives-- her life is long, but it goes by so fast from her perspective, no? Also the song is straight up a BOP like I think I've listened to it at least a hundred times by now. Probably my favourite anime opening song :)

So glad you've picked this up, and I hope you're enjoying the manga too. As much as I like reading manga, having the full visual and auditory experience of a show tends to add a whole lot more atmosphere and emotion to the events.

If you do end up just watching all of it in JP, try to watch it a second time in its entirety in EN. Definitely one of the best english dubs out there.

2024-11-20 10:07:53 +0000 UTCI know you've been reading the manga, but the anime is still absolutely worth watching. Genuinely one of the best adaptations I've seen. And starting it now is a perfect time too, since season 2 is confirmed to come out sometime next year!

So i want to leave a little bit of a different comment because you are already reading manga. I want you to focus on the details. It will be a lot of fun for you to notice 100 little things that dont really matter at first but add, at the very least, a BIG smile on you face. And yeah you are in for a treat. Frieren is one of the very few above perfect adaptations. Enjoy the show and I absolutely cannot wait for Violet and other emotional and music heavy anime <3

2024-11-18 22:31:34 +0000 UTCOh definitely. There are certain stories (like jjk) that sort of NEED to be animated to have proper appreciation. I think ones that are heavily action centric are good examples. But given the proper care and attention with already good stories (like Freiren) there's a level of engagement, evocation of emotion, and beauty that can only be achieved through animation and music. At least from my point of view. :D I'm excited to finish this video.

The thing is these stories have so many entry points and discovering I love them is really exciting and like researching something really intensively. I didn’t cry reading the manga I can tell you that much. Here it fucked me up 😨

2024-11-18 18:42:10 +0000 UTCI don’t like to sit on content because it needs to be for work. That’s a way to absolutely burn out and be unhappy for me. It may just not be the right entertainment for you, which I can completely get. I’ve LOVED reading both of these and FMA and the idea of not doing that because I had to make content around it leaves me with a very very bad taste in my mouth and am relieved I’ve not done it that way!

I think it'd be much more interesting and entertaining to a viewer if you had absolutely no background knowledge of a show. Going into AoT and this knowing that you had read some beforehand was a bit disappointing. However, I know that you have your own interests and priorities and ways you want to spend your time and approach your videos, so this is only a very minor "critique".

This OST is so similar to Violet Evergarden, another great show, his style is just made for this kind of story. Im already exited for Season 2 of Frieren, after catching up with the manga. Perfect time to rewatch it together with you, thanks for picking it up!
