Hercules, at the end, was dressed as what most Americans would probably call a matador, which I understand is a kind of torero. To be fair, bullfighting is also practiced in Mexico, not just Spain, not that that's really the point. Accuracy in terms of history, geography, mythology, et cetera, was never a huge concern on Hercules and Xena. So, I understand being annoyed by things from Latin America (which didn't really exist in this time) being mixed with things Spanish, but, that sort of thing might happen on these shows. 👀 The Widow Twanky is a biological woman. The man playing her, Michael Hurst, is not. Actually, the Widow Twanky (aka Mad Alice Cudlip) is a Pantomime Dame, a kind of stock character from the British theatrical tradition known as pantomime. They're women, played by men. This tradition traveled from the UK to New Zealand and Australia with the settlers, but had not done the same to North America, so Americans like myself and Canadians aren't as familiar with it. But I love Edith Sidebottom's portrayal of Twanky. I THINK the bit with Hercules being ogled whilst drinking lemonade was a play on a Coke commercial at the time starring a male model called Lucky. This is a lot of fun, and I'm happy it was fun for you.
