{ space tier+ } Part 3/general update 08.08.24

greetings.

i suppose there isn't much to say at this point, as i assume you all have heard the news by now, but if not:

as of writing this post, Part 3 of THE DEVICE THEORY is now not only 100% completed and finalized, but in TWO DAYS from now, it will be finally going live on YouTube, on August 10th 2024, at 12 PM EDT.

because of how close the release of this video is, i don't want to say too much about it since i'd rather you all just see it for yourself once it's ready. but i do want to say, genuinely, thank you all so so much for sticking around for the production of this thing and for supporting me financially throughout its creation. i really hope that once it's out, that the wait for it will feel more than worth it.

every section of this video presented its own challenges, and unique identity in relation to the bigger picture of the video itself, and i had to create SO many new assets and the such both for the video itself and for more behind-the-curtain components as i was working on it. this is by far my biggest production i've ever done under the mollystars label, and it will very much stay that way for a good, long while. once the video is out, i plan to reveal where the patron secrets are for the moon/NULL tiers in a post for them, as well as hopefully share some behind-the-scenes material for it for star tier and above, such as the filler backgrounds i used, maybe some BTS footage of the gmod stuff i did in SECTION 1, and...well, honestly i still have to figure out what else i'll show but i know i have more than plenty of stuff to show off for the behind-the-scenes side of things for this video.

overall, the video is now done, and i've just been using this past week to shift back into Being A Person now that the current Big Project is finally finished. my one thing that i absolutely had to do in 2024, is now done, and the rest of the year is now my oyster so to speak.

so...with that done, that does bring one question: what's the plan going forward for myself, and for this Patreon?

for one thing, i will say that i am absolutely taking a break from working on things for at least over a month now that Part 3 is done. nearly 2 thirds of this year were spent effectively just working on this one video, and while i am very happy with how it turned out, only One of those months were downtime for me in any way. i absolutely need a hell of a break before i can consider working on anything else on the YouTube end of things. i do have video ideas in mind for when i do come back from break, in fact, so many that idk what i'll even start with once i'm back, but for now, i just wanna take some time off to decompress, hopefully resolve some IRL business that needs attention, and also maybe even go out to visit one of my partners in the pretty near future. just living life a little bit for once lol.

although, that doesn't mean i won't have anything to show at all for August/September! in fact, quite the opposite!!! see, while i know y'all know me through my YouTube/DELTARUNE stuff, i made this Patreon especially because the question of "what i do" has always been quite a lot bigger than that. while i won't be doing YouTube stuff for a bit, and i imagine that means there'll be less space/star tier posts until i feel ready to tackle the next video, that does mean that i now FINALLY have more time to spend making stuff that i can put on comet tier and above for one of my personal projects! in fact, there'll be a post going live today specifically for that tier!

this is all a way of saying, i really wish i got to do more stuff for comet and especially moon/NULL tiers this year, and Part 3 was a special case where i really just had to allocate all of my attention to that video because of how big of a project it was. now that that's done, and i know i will not be making a video even nearly that big for a very long time if ever, it's going to be a lot easier for me to balance the YouTube side and personal side of my creative psyche. in essence, Part 3 was an unusual case, but from here on, im expecting things on this Patreon to go back to their intended operations. a much more even balance between the stuff for my main channel, and The Other Stuff.

and even then, i do still hope to do more music this year now that Part 3 is done, and if the music i make isn't gonna be related to other personal projects, then that's also smth that i can make demos/sneak peeks of for star tiers!

overall: now that i am done with Part 3, i will be taking a good break first, but i plan to have a lot more stuff to show to EVERY tier and not just star/space tiers from this point forward. with that behemoth of a video finished, i just plan to have a much more healthy balance of everything creatively, and maybe even more of a leaning towards the stuff for comet tier and above if i can help it.

i'm hoping to also find more stuff to show to moon tiers specifically, because while they do get to see sneak peeks at personal stuff and add secrets, i still feel like that tier could have a little something more, especially for whenever i'm focusing less on YouTube stuff...hopefully now that i have a much more cleared up headspace i'll be able to figure something out for that. there's honestly a lot in my mind at once going on in regards to what i wanna do with this page, but the gist is, i've got a lot more free time now to just do whatever and i feel entirely free to pursue whatever project/ideas i want now that i've proven myself with TDT as a whole series. there may be some updates to help me provide more to the higher tiers especially, and i hope to have more to show on all fronts and not just a few. but generally, even with Part 3's completion being as big of a deal as it is, this all still feels like just the beginning for me and where i wanna take all this.

i'm sure once i have spent some time off, i'll be back with some new UTDR video ideas, or even totally unrelated/new stuff for the channel! but, i intend to spend the rest of this year paying a lot more attention at least to one of my personal project ideas and bring that a lot further along, as well as making sure i can consistently make more videos for the main channel that aren't gonna take too long to make either. at this point, even a 1 hour long video, hell, TWO hours, sounds reasonable to me after the scale i worked with for Part 3. ideally, if i can get into a schedule where i only have to spend abt a few weeks in a given month working on a video and then spend the rest of that month or so just working on personal shit, that's where i'll be able to keep a good balance and output on every front, but i'm gonna see how things go once i'm back from my break.

this is a lot of yapping, but just a way to say: i am free to do whatever i want now! and because of that, that means i'm gonna have a lot more to show for this page in general! so, i hope y'all will enjoy what i've got to bring to each tier, especially after my time off and once i can get back into the swing of just making Normal Sized projects and not videos that are apparently longer than entire fucking movie trilogies JKLDGJKLH

this feels a bit scatterbrained, but i hope it's a decent enough idea of what i've got in store for the near future. there's so much i want to get around to doing, and i'm very excited to show it all to you in advance once i get to it. thank you all as always for supporting me and sticking with me through the production of this thing. there is still so much cool shit i'd like to do and show even with this series now in the bag. i like to think that every time i finish something like this, it's just another shackle i free myself from that makes me able to exceed myself even more for whatever i plan on doing next.

so, with that, i hope you all enjoy Part 3 once it's out, and i hope yall have a good rest-of-your-summer! consider this my notice of "i am taking a vacation but i will be back before long" ^^ even with the amount of sneak peeks i gave for Part 3 itself, i'm sure there will still be some surprises even for the higher tiers once the video is released proper.
