Had a feeling you would dig this, Sora :-) It's a real classic from the 80's and sadly still so relevant in the world today with its theme of fighting against a totalitarian government - there's plenty of examples now, aren't there? I think the "we won't have learned a thing" scene with the Jewish Grandfather is incredibly powerful as is the reading back of his final letter by his family. It's a great way to make important commentary through sci-fi and I remember back in the 80's when this miniseries came to the UK from the US we knew nothing about the plot. We just saw promos with UFOs and the symbol V and we were hooked and needed to see it. And it blew us away. I remember the first reveal of the Visitor Leader Diana eating the guinea pig and the revelation that they were all reptiles and how we were all "holy shit"! It really had a big impact at the time. The 80's and 90's were great times for really classic two part miniseries like this and as you mentioned 'It' and many others. I'm pleased to say though there is more. There is a 3 part miniseries continuation called V - The Final Battle and I will start stripping it as a pixie dust request from next month :-) I enjoyed seeing you with your water and popcorn having a blast with this- it was a lot of fun! Also happy to see you're a Robert Englund fan - you'll see much more of him as the story continues.....
