{ space tier+ } Part 3 update 05.05.24

hey! it's been a bit, so i feel like updating you all on how things have been going with Part 3!

after about a month of locking the fuck in, Part 3 is currently 14.6% complete! which means as well, that SECTION 1 OF 6 of Part 3 is now FULLY edited! for context, SECTION 1 is where i go over the theory itself, which means that now technically, i finally have a fully edited video to explain what the hell the device theory actually is! yippee!!!!

i know 14.6% doesn't sound like an awful lot to start, given it's been nearly a month since i started editing Part 3 proper. however, i will say that while there is still a LOT of work left to do, i think SECTION 1 by far, was simply the most dense and visually dependent part of the video compared to everything that's gonna come after. i think it's easily the best god damn thing i've put together in a while honestly, but the main reason this section especially had me taking my time is that, unlike what i think most of this video will be, where i'll have to put some effort into a few assets but mostly just make sure that i'm showing things that are at least a bit relevant to what i'm talking about in the video (maybe a few more intense bits here and there but nothing too crazy), SECTION 1...kinda needs the visuals to be conveying a lot more than that, what with all the "boxes" and the like; if the visuals aren't clear about getting across wtf i'm talking about, i worry people will get lost very easily, and i can't be having that for the very first section of this video.

there were a lot of elaborate parts, a couple of detours, a whole ass animation i even cooked up for this section (that animation btw, i finished in 2 days somehow. i've never animated anything like this before too), and frankly, this is just an incredibly dense section of the video, and rightfully so; it's more or less what people have been waiting for since i promised this theory at the very start of the series, so god damn it, it's gotta deliver, right? and, i think it will. i'm pretty damn sure it will, given how much work has gone into trying to make this theory make sense. it's funny too, because i could technically even make this its own video, separate from the rest of these sections, but, well...you'll see why that isn't the case once the full thing is done.

since my birthday is coming up as i'm writing this, and finishing section 1 already is an accomplishment of its own to me, i'm going to be taking a small break from editing this and just give myself some Fun Time :) however, i don't intend to take too long before i'm back to work on the next section of Part 3, which is by far going to be the longest one out of all of them, for sure. that said though, i do have hope that despite the next few sections being def on the longer end, that i might actually finish section 2 in about the same time, if not even sooner than section 1? the way i would describe section 1 is, imagine if i extended part 1's intro to like dozens of minutes more compared to the first few minutes that it takes up. that style of editing takes up a very large chunk of the first section, and compared to, say, a lil over an hour of editing in my more laid back style where i can just mostly throw on a filler bg and only show relevant gameplay/assets here and there, i think things are gonna be speeding up a lot more in the process of making the next few sections of the video. but, we'll see how it goes.

whatever the case, with SECTION 1's completion, i can at least tell you with some confidence, Part 3 is absolutely fucking happening this year. if i can finish that in about a month, i think this thing is well on its way, and for all i know it might be coming sooner than you think, even! but, it all depends on how much trouble the "less intense" sections of this video give me.

as always, thank you all a ton for your patience and support. <3 genuinely, i know how long yall have been waiting for Part 3, and while i wish i could just have it done Already, seeing at least one section of this thing already fully prepared for the most part lifts a lot off my shoulders. i want to make this one more than worth the wait once it's done; i've said it before but, it's almost more than a theory video to me at this point and i hope it shows once you get to see it for yourself.

naturally, once i get back to editing, there'll be more sneak peeks, maybe more music snippets??? but, for now, the focus is still going to be on part 3 for a while so that i can make even more progress on it and get it done for yall sooner rather than later. if anything, i want to ensure that even if chapters 3 and 4 drop mid-production, that i'm much closer to the end of it than i am to the beginning of Part 3 editing-wise lol.
