{ space tier+ } Part 2 production update 7.15.23 + patreon update

hey!

first off, you might have noticed i've added a bunch of images of just blank yellow and/or purple backgrounds to most of the posts on here. i realized not too long after launching this page that patreon's image blur upon showing posts inaccessible to the public/certain tiers....kind of sucks! like it isn't really blurring anything,  it's way too easy to tell what's what from a non-patron's view especially JKLDGHJKLGH so, i've decided to edit each post to have those images, and going forward, they'll be formatted as such for the ease of my own conscience. i hope you understand lol

but second off, and the main reason i'm making this post: after about 2 weeks or so since the last production update on star tier, i can now safely say that the "DEMO" portion of Part 2 of THE DEVICE THEORY has now been fully edited and completed, as of today.

currently, the video is an hour and 38 minutes long, roughly. the "DEMO" portion covers pretty much everything to do with the 2021 demo of DELTARUNE, and particularly Chapter 2, Spamton, and the Weird Route. this part has been incredibly fucking dense because of those later two topics especially, but, i have managed to finally pull through, and completing this portion of the video is a huge milestone for me.

there's even some stuff i ended up adding in from what was originally there, like a corrections segment at the beginning for Part 1, and even a sort of intermission segment when going into the Weird Route that kind of goes over how the scope of internet horror has changed and the relevance that creepypastas and obscure game secrets/glitches/playground rumors have to the Weird Route. very fucking insane for me to say it that way but you'll see what i mean when you see it for yourself, hopefully! ^^

what's left *now,* is to work on any supplementary materials/components for Part 2, and to eventually work on the "SWEEPSTAKES" portion of the video, which covers the rest of its runtime. i predict when it's complete, that the video will be roughly 2 hours and 24 minutes long, maybe just barely longer. i still can't give an exact ETA on when the video will be out, but in any case, there is less than an hour left to edit in total, and i can probably safely say the video will absolutely be out this year, at the very most, it'd be a bit of a surprise if i can't finish this video within this summer.

that said though, with the completion of the "DEMO" portion of Part 2, i will be breaking away from editing videos for at least a few weeks. the SWEEPSTAKES portion is still a rather sizable chunk and one that i'd like to have a fresher brain for when i get into it, even if probably not *as* dense as the DEMO portion, and said DEMO portion was absolutely filled with a ton of bits and pieces, different topics to go over, a good few of them being rather loaded with shit to analyze, and frankly, editing a video for several weeks tends to be a bit taxing if i'm not taking some time off every now and then. *however,* i will most likely take this time to work on personal projects a bit more, and particularly on some ... supplementary components related to said projects and Part 2. that, and i'd like to focus more on providing content for the higher tiers now that i feel more caught up with video production.

all that said, i'm very happy with how Part 2 has come along so far! part of me worries about it treading a lot of familiar ground, but again, if so, then that's kind of the point, we're still mostly in the "compiling information" phase of this series. but, soon it may not be that way for much longer...

thank you all for your patience as always <3 it seems people are kind of surprised i even got this much of the video done as soon as i did, and i guess i can just chalk that up to the good old "i work way too fast for my own good" JKLHDGLKJG but yeah, once i get at least a few weeks to kinda refresh myself and do other things i'll be back on this video, and hopefully the SWEEPSTAKES portion won't give me too much of a headache! we'll see, lol
