Gregory Sierra who played Lieutenant Rodriguez actually asked to be written out of the show apparently he didn't want to remain situated in Miami when it became a full time series. However his replacement who you will first meet in the next episode was well worth his depature - an actor who you are already seeing a lot of in another series you react to here ;-)
