I totally get you being smitten with the legendary Tony Todd in this episode (which is a big favourite of mine) as he had such presence and charisma and as you said that wonderful voice too. And you reminded me that it's also crossed my mind a few times how nice a Gabrielle/Cecrops pairing would have been :-) I would have totally supported it! Really is a very good episode and I do love that Cecrops survives the curse with Xena and Gabrielle's help.

There IS a mythological figure named Cecrops, but he has virtually nothing in common with this cursed sailor, so the TV Cecrops is basically an original character. And he's not only a great character, but he's played by a great actor, Tony Todd, who was a genre icon, and had already appeared in the first season of Hercules as Gladius. But Cecrops is, I think, an even better character. ... While it wasn't of the utmost importance that you watch the episodes in this order, rearranging them was to explain why Xena and Gabrielle were suddenly on a ship again, even with Gabby's seasickness. After all, they HAD to get on a boat again to leave Ithaca. ... I love how much you enjoyed it, and how good looking you found Cecrops. 😆
